Historia
Broken Money explores the history of money through the lens of technology. Politics can affect things temporarily and locally, but technology is what drives things forward globally and permanently. The book's goal is for the listener to walk away with a deep understanding of money and monetary history, both in terms of theoretical foundations and in terms of practical implications.

Surprise! It’s a bitcoin book.
Revisado: 05-25-24
First half of the book is about the history of money. This part (about 8 hours) is solid. The second half of the book just talks about bitcoin and why it’s great and addresses some of the common arguments against bitcoin. Overall, not really worth the read. If you want something on the history of money, try Debt by David Graeber. If you were already on the fence or currently own bitcoin, why not, give it a shot.

Entertaining at least
Revisado: 10-03-20
Story: There are a few useful tips in here that are largely common sense but which bear repeating: be confident, clean and tidy, try new things regularly, etc. On the other hand, the author makes some ridiculous claims/statements which are sure to give you a laugh if you don’t take the book too seriously. I can’t say they added to the book but they definitely made it more enjoyable.
Performance: the author delivers the material well and is easy to listen to.
Overall: Fun but might not be what people are looking for. I downloaded this since it’s one of the “included” books that are free so my perception may be skewed by the fact that I didn’t have to “waste” a credit. That said, I’m not sure what people expect when they read books of this kind but it’s certainly not going to turn you into a ms or mr heartthrob over the course of 4 hours. But there seems to be a core idea that people like people who are interesting which holds water. This book tries to give tips to that effect, albeit somewhat wrapped in pseudoscience bs. If you “have no expectations”, the book is fine.
