I read this book prior to listening to it and remembered enjoying the book. I can only conclude that the narrator completely ruined it for me. I generally love the audible versions of Eloisa James novels, so not sure what happened here.

Historia
Studious and sensible, the only thing Molly Wakefield wants to do is get through senior year and graduate. That, and hit the beach in her spare time. Maybe even read a book or two. And things are going great—until the day she catches Weston McGrath, handsome star athlete and scholar, spying on her in study hall. A tad creepy? Maybe. Thrilling? Absolutely. Why? Because Weston McGrath is one guy no one can get close to. Despite her efforts to avoid him, Molly and Weston form an unlikely friendship. But it's a friendship that comes with a price—because Weston cannot stop screwing up.

Not her best
Revisado: 06-20-19
I’m a HUGE Sara Ney fan, but this was rated maybe PG13, with almost zero heat. The male narrator was truly one of the worst I’ve ever heard. I’m pretty bummed I used a credit on it actually. The characters were not very believable and I’m just surprised this is the same author I’ve loved so much in her other books.

Historia
Meet Blaire. An underachieving college student with zero prospects and a ton of issues (hey, being the less-successful twin of a gorgeous supermodel would totally do that to you). She doesn't do bad boys. Actually, she doesn't do boys, like, at all. Not that she's a lesbian. And not that there's anything wrong with being one. It's just that...well...she kind of needs to focus on graduating from college right now.

Not my fav LJ Shen
Revisado: 06-15-19
Apparently this was the debut novel by LJ Shen. As such it makes sense that this isn’t quite as compelling as some of the later stories. The characters were sweet but I felt like this had unnecessary plot holes that were not resolved and led to unnecessary drama. It was in general tamer than the later stories, more PG 13 than R with much less heat. I still enjoyed it and it was worth the time and credit.

I love Penelope Douglas
Revisado: 03-28-19
If you haven’t read a book by Penelope, you are missing out. While this series is a little more intense than I prefer, it’s still riveting and different enough to be enjoyable. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series. The narration was really well done, I’ve read this story and listened to it and I liked it even better in audiobook.

Historia
When the dashing Jack Carstares is unfairly accused of cheating at cards, he leaves the country in disgrace. Returning some years later disguised as a highwayman, his reappearance heralds a dramatic chain of events that includes a Duke, a damsel, a duel, and not one, but two kidnappings. Written when she was just 17, The Black Moth was Heyer’s first novel, but it bears many of the hallmarks of her later romances, being vivid, witty, and peppered with historical insight.

Revisado: 03-26-19
I wasn’t expecting much from this story since I had read that it was Heyer’s first written when she was only 17, but I loved it! The characters were witty and beautifully written and the story was creative and completely enjoyable. I didn’t love the female voices, but the male voices more than made up for it.

Cute story but the narration
Revisado: 02-17-19
This would have been much better to read than listen to. It’s not that the narrator is terrible, I’m sure she’s fine in her own accent, but the main characters are Australian and her attempt hurt my heart.

We are told God will punish the wicked; that sinful men will reap what they sow. We are told to scourge our souls with prayer and pain to become clean once again. Well, here I am. Wicked and sinful. Desperate to become clean - even though it feels so good to be dirty. But even I never expected what came next. Even I never expected my punishment to come so soon.

Fantastic
Revisado: 12-26-18
I had anxiety ordering this book because I loved the first so much. Based on the other reviews I was concerned it contained infidelity or something that would make me love these two characters less. Rest assured it does not. What it does do is present a coming of age story for a different point in life, something that in my opinion needs to happen more often. Coming to terms with new responsibilities, a different set of adult style joys and compromises. I truly enjoyed it.

Quinn Caruthers has several problems: her father, Jason, and her three older brothers, Jared, Madoc, and Jaxon. Under the close watch of the men in her family, Quinn has found it nearly impossible to spread her wings - or even date - without them jumping in to hover. And when a family friend - several years older - from her childhood captures her heart, she knows they're going to be a problem. Lucas Morrow is a man - experienced, sophisticated, and important. And knowing her brothers, he may as well be forbidden.

Disappointed
Revisado: 12-09-18
I loved this series, but this last book was really presented incorrectly. Based on the summary, I expected this book to have SOMETHING to do with Lucas but other than two minutes in the epilogue where he’s not even on the same continent, he’s not a part of this story. This is entirely based on the relationship between Jared’s mom and Maddox’s Dad. It’s an interesting story but not really what I thought I signed up for and this just left a million loose ends.

Penniless Elinor is rather surprised at the carriage that meets her from the stage, and more so at the decayed grandeur of the house to which she's transported. Realising that there has been a case of mistaken identity she agrees to an audacious plan.

More mystery than romance
Revisado: 07-17-18
I enjoyed this Heyer as I have all her stories I’ve listened too. The narrator was pretty exceptional at the variety of voices and accents. There was so little description of the plot though that I am not sure this book would have been my first choice had I known what to expect. This is a story of a woman who gets talked into marrying a dying man only to find herself in the middle of a murder mystery. There is very little interaction between her and the hero and therefore very little in the way of romance. Still a fun story and worth the credit.
