Laughing so hard it hurts

Started laughing at the dedication (that's a joke name, right?), died laughing when he read the title of the first chapter "Active Shooter", and I'm having to pause every few minutes to catch my breath.

I love David Sedaris so much. Been a fan for years, I guess that's why I laugh through the entire set up now, not just the punchlines. The anticipation is delightful. Thank you David (and fam) for bringing us so much joy and laughter. You're one of the best and most important people in the world. 😍

My number 1 favorite book of all time

This book is brilliant, funny and sweet. Martin Jarvis reads it PERFECTLY. His interpretation of the characters is simply the best (although David Tennant and Martin Sheen delivered flawless performances, too - nothing but love for those guys). Jarvis's Madame Tracy, Sergeant Shadwell, Anathema and Adam can't be touched though.

I wish Terry and Neil could write more together. They are a perfect combo.

Really glad I listened

Lots of laughs. I'm a lazy ally. I tend to avoid media regarding the plight of LGBTQ folks, not because I don't care, but for a similar reason to what Samantha described relative to the true crime phenomenon. I grew up with a personality disordered parent, so the first 38 years of my life involved a lot of emotional turmoil. The last thing I want to do with my recreational time is listen to something that's going to trigger an empathic response to angst. That's why I gravitate more towards comedy.

This book was ideal for me - I feel like I got a much needed and long overdue lesson in some of the issues facing a community I care about but it was...easy listening - and I don't mean that with ANY negative connotation. Samantha has a lovely voice and a charming sense of humor. Her candid stories were very relatable on a human level - you definitely don't have to be queer/trans to get the jokes or relate to her identity crisis. It's more or less the same thing we all go through, just with a slightly different perspective and fresh humor.

It's REALLY interesting to me hearing from folks who have experienced being both male and female. I get the feeling that as more trans folks tell their stories, they're going to become very instrumental in bridging the gender gap, ending the gender wars, healing gender inequality - whatever it is that keeps male/female at odds with one another. This work is very much in service to the greater good.

And I think she did a great job of balancing seriousness and lightheartedness. She hit that sweet spot for me - I really enjoyed this listen. Off to find her other books now!

simple meditation, nice voice

It's a nice, simple meditation. I've heard better, but this one is fairly quick, which means I can usually get through it before falling asleep. :)

The story finally picks up

Matt marries tuan, loel marries erith, perrin saves faile. egwene captured by white tower. over all the pace is much faster.

Matt and Tuan's budding relationship is the best part of this one. otherwise, not much happens. I think the following book is my favorite, where egwene defends the white tower against the seanchan.

What made the experience of listening to Clean - Expanded Edition the most enjoyable?

Junger has a pleasant voice and his passion and compassion really come through in his reading. Also, he just "gets it." He knows what it means to be a healer - to have an open mind, not an ego. His knowledge and experience is very well rounded, and he boils it all down to a really simple, flexible program. One of the few folks I've come across that I agree with on most points.

Would you be willing to try another book from Alejandro Junger? Why or why not?

Sure. I think he's a good guy.

Any additional comments?

Most of the audio book was review for me, so sometimes I got a little bored. I like to listen to it when I need to get refocused on my health. I wish I could view the .pdf file on my phone, but I wasn't able to. The recipes are okay. I haven't tried them, I just follow the same principles when I'm making my own smoothies.
