Provocative, Challenging, and Life Changing
Revisado: 06-18-08
Harmonic Wealth is the finest book that James Ray has written to date -- it is his distilled wisdom presented in a very easy to listen to, and apply, manner. One of his greatest strenghts is reconciling the traditionally opposing worldviews of wealth and spirituality. His book is extremely accessible and full of profound wisdom, and it's fun to listen to the author present his thoughts on how to lead a great life. I would highly recommend this book to thoughtful individuals with an open mind who are interested in expansion and self-development, and creating tangible results in the real world. If you enjoy this book, I'd also recommend another Audible title by James Ray: Practical Spirituality.

Best Download in 3 Years!!
Revisado: 04-19-07
I'm writing this review for the person out there who's heard about The Secret and is intrigued, but has read a few negative reviews of this book here or at Amazon, (wow it provokes a lot of strong emotion in people, which I'd argue is really good!!) Listening to this book in combination with watching the DVD has produced remarkable results in my own life and changed much of my outlook in a very positive way, (e.g. I’ve hit new ambitious fitness goals, feel rejuvenated and excited about life's possibilies and wonder, and remarkably doubled my professional income in 3 months). I'm very thankful that I stumbled into the audiobook version here this year, (didn’t know an audio version existed at the time). Side note: the actual book itself is excellent, but the real value in the audiobook version is quite frankly getting to hear Rhonda Byrne herself narrate, (what a remarkable woman!) In summary, I have gained tremendously from re-listening to this recording on a weekly basis. So if you’re intrigued, take a chance and listen to this book, I’m so fortunate that I did!!

An Incredible Novel
Revisado: 08-26-06
Truly great books are centered about archetypal characters you can empathize with and genuinely feel for, and above all they need to tell a great story. The Power of One fits the bill. A genuinely awe-inspiring, powerful story, this is one book I'm ecstatic I bumped into... five stars!!!!

Exciting Historical Fiction
Revisado: 08-11-06
From the first paragraph I was captivated by this book and its characters. Spent most of the weekend devoted to listening to the book, (I normally listen to a book of this length over 1-2 weeks), couldn't proverbially put it down!! If you enjoy historical fiction and intricate and esoteric plots that keep you reading, this is a great listen.

Historia
In his subtle and engaging investigation into the life and times of Jesus, Thomas Cahill shows us Jesus from his birth to his execution through the eyes of those who knew him and in the context of his time—a time when the Jews were struggling to maintain their beliefs under overlords who imposed their worldview on their subjects. Here is Jesus the loving friend, itinerate preacher, and quiet revolutionary, whose words and actions inspired his followers to journey throughout the Roman world and speak the truth he instilled.

A Beautiful and Profound Book
Revisado: 10-31-05
I write this review with a curious mixture of melancholy, satisfaction and happiness as I just completed listening to Desire of the Everlasting Hills -- and I'm frankly sorry I've completed the book. No series of sleep-inducing sermons, Cahill brings the great events, cultures and people of the New Testament and early Christian eras literally to life. Even the most hardened and cynical nihilist may find this book's tenets and interpretations difficult to dismiss. Many times while listening to the extraordinary stories of these great but very real people who were largely unbeknownst to me previously, I found myself overwhelmed by the profound humanity in the writing. Moreover, Cahill's portrait of Jesus -- a man I so often wish I truly knew -- was beyond description. My personal view is that those who are on the path of exploring their spirituality and working towards that perennially elusive state called self-actualization, may greatly benefit from reading this work. Intuitively imparting compelling non-dogmatic lessons and the corresponding actions (very relevant for all of us who shake our heads, wring our hands, and fret over our inability as one person to do anything about the vast scale of tragedies all around our troubled world), the author leaves us with exemplars who demonstrate by their actions what we can possibly do to make the world a better place. These are some of the things that I have taken from Cahill's wonderful book to date, and I intend to purchase a physical copy and return to it as a reference for many years to come.

Historia
The Count of Monte Cristo is the tense and exciting story of Edmond Dantes, a man on the threshold of a bright career and a happy marriage, who is imprisoned in the island fortress of the Chateau d'If on a false political charge. After staging a dramatic escape, he finds the fabulous treasure of Monte Cristo, which makes him wealthy. He then sets upon the course of revenge against his old enemies.
The Count of Monte Cristo is one of the great thrillers of all time. In 1853 William Thackeray wrote to a friend: "began to read Monte Cristo at six one morning and never...

Historia
This, the first in the splendid series of Jack Aubrey novels, establishes the friendship between Captain Aubrey, Royal Navy, and Stephen Maturin, ship's surgeon and intelligence agent, against the thrilling backdrop of the Napoleonic wars. Details of life aboard a man-of-war in Nelson's navy are faultlessly rendered: the conversational idiom of the officers in the ward room and the men on the lower deck, the food, the floggings, the mysteries of the wind and the rigging, and the road of broadsides as the great ships close in battle.

Action Novel for the Thoughtful
Revisado: 10-25-04
Originally intrigued by the movie Master and Commander, I was interested in listening to the book, and found that I very quickly loved listening. Knowing virtually nothing of ships or the navy, I found that O'Brian is such an incredible story-teller, that you somehow intuitively pick up on the details of the ship and focus instead on the action. The character development is just excellent and next thing you know you're swept along with the captivating story. The narrator is just excellent too -- you feel his enthusiasm for the novel in every sentence. All-in-all, this is fabulous book -- I can't wait to continue reading the series!
