Ugh..,, Everything I never cared to know about spiders
Revisado: 01-12-25
We have listened to and enjoyed this series, until this book. We finally gave up listening. The story line was fragmented and the entomology references were a distraction.

Good story

This is another good Melinda Leigh story. I also like the narrator. However, I could do without the long, extended, bedroom sex details.

This monumental book tells the enthralling story of one of the greatest accomplishments in our nation's history, the building of what was then the longest suspension bridge in the world. The Brooklyn Bridge rose out of the expansive era following the Civil War, when Americans believed all things were possible.

A book full of corny clichés and a bizarre ending
Revisado: 01-23-23
I was reluctant, but I persistently followed the story line. It wasn't all that compelling, but the progression made some amount of sense. Then.... the last part of the book went from a story that was somewhat interesting to a story that was ridiculous. I won't be purchasing any Patterson/Sitts books again.

This book is out of order
Revisado: 11-06-22
This, 18th book does not fit into the natural order of this series. I have listened to all of “The Women’s Murder Club” up to this book. In this book, there are very few events with the women together. There is no reference at all to little Julie or Yuki’s Brady. It seems that this book was written without an idea where it should be placed in the series. Disappointing

Exhausting!
Revisado: 04-16-21
I I love listening to Michael Connelly‘s books. I especially love the narration by Peter Giles. However, this book was a bit different. Usually, The Mickey Haller books fluctuate between his prowess and Micky getting into trouble. I usually enjoy how he sporadically outwits his opponent. In this book, it was eight hours of “Micky is really in trouble now“, followed by 45 minutes of redemption. It was frustrating and exhausting! ...not my favorite.

Alex Cross' first case since joining the FBI has his new colleagues stymied. Across the country, men and women are being kidnapped in broad daylight and then disappearing completely. These people are not being taken for ransom, Alex realizes. They are being bought and sold. And it looks like a shadowy figure known as the Wolf, a master criminal who has brought a new reign of terror to organized crime, is behind this business in which ordinary men and women are sold as slaves.

Revisado: 02-22-21
I listen to many Alex Cross books and always enjoy them, but this has been my least favorite. In this story, the murderer, "the Wolf" ultimately threatens cities around the world. This story was unrealistic and was not developed very well. ...just ok

A Wonderful novel of espionage!
Revisado: 08-03-20
I rarely write reviews, but after listening to this book, I feel compelled to offer my praise. I have been a fan of spy novels for many years. Like many readers, I have a few favorites. Jason Matthews will now be among those favorites. The novel was also wonderfully narrated by Jeremy Bobb! I look forward to the next book in the series!
