Historia
The first volume of a trilogy, Dutch follows the criminal career of street hood James Bernard Jr., a.k.a. Dutch. Even while stealing cars, Dutch knew he was destined for more, and it wasn’t long before he saw his chance to seize power in New Jersey. Now a Jersey kingpin, Dutch is coming under fire from an upstart DA—but it won’t be easy to take down this streetwise criminal.

Good story about the streets
Revisado: 05-23-13
So, I have just read Teri Wood's "True to the Game" and was completely swept up. I decided to try out "Dutch" because it was on sale. I'm glad I did. I thought he story was interesting and gritty, the characters ruthless and raw. I did not like this book as much as "True to the Game" or "White Lines" (both beginning trilogy books about hustling on the streets) but I would definitely recommend. I also have a strong suspicion that this will be one of those trilogies where each one gets better and better. There's a lot of room left for character growth and development and plot twists and turns. I am sure Ms. Woods will deliver. check this out.

Historia
Sideways is the story of two friends, Miles and Jack, going away together for the last time to steep themselves in everything that makes it good to be young and single: pinot, putting, and prowling bars. In the week before Jack plans to marry, the pair heads out from Los Angeles to the Santa Ynez wine country.

very funny, at times frustrating, but always good
Revisado: 05-21-13
I think that was the point. These characters aren't always "likable" but I really enjoyed the book. You are transported to the wine country and watch these guys continually make the wrong the decisions but you're rooting for them. I would definitely recommend.

I cannot wait to read the rest of the series. I loved it and was completely transported to the back in the day drug game. I love African-American literature and this was no disapointment.

Historia
Stephen Sheerin was born to play on Broadway - or at least, under it. He's a musician, a conductor, and his dream is to music-direct a big Broadway musical. After years of toiling in the pit of some of the best-loved (and loathed) hits on the Great White Way, he's just been given his big break. Can life really be going that well? Of course not.

Ahhhhmazing
Revisado: 05-21-13
If you are a fan of Seth Rudetsky on XM then you will love this book. Be warned, and I say this with love...It is very "gay" This is about musical theater people! :) But seriously the main character is a gay man and he is hilarious. I loved this book. I loved listening to Seth. It was fabulous, and I'd recommend it...just not to my southern grandmother. And definitely not to someone who has no interest in musical theater. I was a theater and art major so this was right up my ally. Really funny and interesting.

Cute and light and fun
Revisado: 05-21-13
This isn't the book you want if you are in the mood for some deep soul searching. But if a fun, playful love story with likable characters and some semi-steamy love scenes (that don't cross the boundries of taste, but still have some heat) are what you are in the mood for, pick this up. Jennifer Crusie is still my favorite in this genre, but this book was a good non-Crusie.

Better than I expected
Revisado: 05-21-13
I was all set up to hate this book and think it was cheesy, but I was pleasantly surprised. It isn't the best book I've ever read, or even the best chick lit, but it was solid and enjoyable and entertaining. I will read the other books in this series. I would recommend.

So long and not intersting
Revisado: 05-21-13
I love Stephen King. I love long books. I like the 20+ hour ones, but this was a severe struggle. I don't know why but I honestly couldn't connect with the story or characters. Listen to another King. This isn't horrible, but I would much much much prefer another King, like 11-22-63.

Historia
From Andre Agassi, one of the most beloved athletes in history and one of the most gifted men ever to step onto a tennis court, a beautiful, haunting autobiography. Agassi brings a near-photographic memory to every pivotal match and every relationship. Never before has the inner game of tennis and the outer game of fame been so precisely limned. In clear, taut prose, Agassi evokes his loyal brother, his wise coach, his gentle trainer, all the people who help him regain his balance and find love at last with Stefanie Graf.

Revisado: 05-21-13
I connected with this book and thoroughly enjoyed it. The only thing that would have made it better is if Andre would have narrated himself. Erik Davies was very good and I have no complaints, but I found myself wondering what Andre would have sounded like. Great book. Really interesting even for non-tennis buffs.
