Frustrating Ending
Revisado: 02-13-19
This was my first Jeffrey Archer book and I thoroughly enjoyed the story line and narration right up to the extremely disappointing ending. It’s like he just got tired of writing. Not sure whether I will read anymore of his books in the future.

Historia
In the autumn of 1938, Germany's reichsführer, Heinrich Himmler, is growing frustrated at the British using their regional power in India to block the passage of an SS expedition to Tibet. Determined to spite them, he plots to steal something the British hold dear and have failed for the seventh time that spring to achieve: a first summit of Mount Everest. Seventy years later, seasoned mountain guide Neil Quinn's ninth visit to the top of the world's highest mountain, this time in charge of the 16-year-old son of a Long Island billionaire, begins to unravel.

Great story. A fictional account of historical events. It is a long book, and it does require an substantial time investment. But hey, I’m commuting to work every anyway and this book made me look forward to getting stuck in traffic.
I can’t help thinking this story would make a decent movie.

Could not get past the first 3 chapters. Never heard "pussy" and "cock" used so many times in such a short span of pages. Judging from other reviews, this continues on throughout the remainder of the book. This is not literature, this is smut. I love a good romance novel as much as anyone, but this ain't it!

Historia
When a black boy named Paris saves Trudy from being crushed by a runaway Sunbeam Bread truck, they become friends. Navigating a multi-racial friendship in 1964 is no easy thing, however. The racism they encounter inspires them to go on an audacious adventure: to take down the Confederate flag that flies atop the South Carolina State House. And they can't do it without the help of Trudy's grandmother, Ida.

Hideous narration
Revisado: 08-22-17
This may very well be a Pulitzer Prize winner, but I'll never know. The forced southern accent is so bad I could not get past the first two chapters.
