A country girl, and a jaded billionaire. It sounds like your typical romantic novella that you've read a thousand times already, but Emma always finds a way to make something sound good, even if it's a plot that would normally sound like it's tired. I don't think Emma is capable of publishing a bad book. Nick & Daisy feel fresh and new while feeling comfortable and familiar. It's definitely worth the read.

This is the story of Jenny and Nick. Nick is a Mall Santa and she's Santa's little helper. That's when Sparks fly. It's a great story. There are some parts that sound tinny, which could have been fixed if more time was spent on editing, as well as there was some distracting pauses  that seemed unneccessary. If you can get past that, I think it's worth the listen, especially since this is the companion book to Eve's story in Unmasking the Billionaire.

I had such high hopes...

I'm Rating this High in spite of the fact that I couldn't finish the book no matter how hard I tried, and I'm never that kind of reader, but I just couldn't get past this narration. I felt like I was listening to a robot.

I'm not sure if it was an AI and I missed that or if it just sounded like it, but it took away from the entire reading experience from me and made it hard to follow along for me.

If you can get past the narration though, unlike me, the story-line definitely was giving off the darker Princess Bride I was promised. I just couldn't stay in that world with such a horrible narrator guiding me through it.

This is the story of Gage Morelli and Ava Sinclair. When Ava's father stiffs the kingpin from New York, Gage makes a decision, he kidnaps Ava, but they both end up getting more than they bargain for when by capturing her, he risks capturing her heart.

In regards to the narration...The voices were differentiated enough, but it would have been nice if Gage's voice sounded more like a masculine. I know only so much can be done when you're a female narrating a male, but you can attempt to deepen your voice. I did really like that Erika did a Southern accent for Ava. There were also more than one part throughout the book where lines were repeated that weren't repeated in the Kindle version. I will also say that the performance was well done, there was just a few minor things like what I mentioned previously, but the only thing that "took me out of the story" was the repeated lines that were missed in editing.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
