Historia
As a busy mom with three young kids and a career, number one national best-selling author Christy Wright knows what it’s like to try to do it all and be stretched too thin. After years of running on empty, she realized she had to do something different. It wasn’t just a matter of saying no to a few things. She had to figure out why she felt overwhelmed, overcommitted, and out of balance. Here’s what she discovered: Life balance isn't something you do. It's something you feel. The great news is you can feel balanced - even in your busy life.

A very long sermon
Revisado: 06-27-22
I actually didn’t finish the book. It was a very long sermon pushing her Christian views. I couldn’t get past the Bible thumping long enough to find her point about reclaiming your time.

Supremely helpful at any "Moma" stage.

Supremely helpful at any "Moma" stage.
Revisado: 08-10-16
Since my only child is an adult and lives on the other coast from me, you would think this book would have little value or relevancy to my life. However, I've always been chronically disorganized and have been on a 15 year mission to correct that. At my age I'm starting to feel that if I don't find better ways to achieve my goals I will die just a dreamer. Many of the chapters hit home and gave me more useful tools and a new way to think of things that GTD didn't help with! One warning; if you have adult kids, it may cause a twinge or two of guilt that you didn't have these skills early enough to teach your kids.

Funny and smart. Escapism at its best.

Delightful, satirical fantasy as social commentary
Revisado: 09-10-12
If you could sum up Moving Pictures in three words, what would they be?
Funny, fun, odd.
What did you like best about this story?
A great story, deliberately rife with cliches, that chronicles the invention of moving pictures and the insane industry that grows up around it in a world of no technology. Magic out of control and a cast of bizarre characters make this a super fun listen.
What about Nigel Planer’s performance did you like?
Nigel Planer does a great job of reading the story, using appropriate voices and delivering the "punch lines" with typical dry British humor. I love his voice.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Several! If you include moving me to hysterical laughter.
Any additional comments?
Hubby can always tell when I'm reading Sir Terry Pratchett. It's the only time I laugh out loud when reading (or listening) to a book. It actually is what convinced him to try reading them too. Now he's hooked and we listen together in the car!
