New Narrator Needed
Revisado: 05-08-20
I listened to this book, and I wish I had not. The narrator was so monotone that it was hard to get into this book. I thought the stories were written well and gave a lot of information for the time they were allotted.

Not what I expected
Revisado: 04-01-20
I was hoping for a shocker, or a creepy listen based on the reviews. That is not what I got. It was really predictable and mostly ho-um, not moving at all.

Off to a great start
Revisado: 10-24-17
I truly enjoyed this book. It took me a minute to not think of zombies because of the narrator of the Mark Tufo books, but after about an hour I stopped thinking about them. I was surprised where the story was going, but it was welcomed surprise. I think those into the genre will enjoy this book.

Historia
In the Tall Grass begins with a sister and brother who pull off to the side of the road after hearing a young boy crying for help from beyond the tall grass. Within minutes they are disoriented, in deeper than seems possible, and they've lost one another. The boy's cries are more and more desperate. What follows is a terrifying, entertaining, and masterfully told tale, as only Stephen King and Joe Hill can deliver.

Not too bad
Revisado: 12-11-16
I was expecting so much more. One because of the writers and two because of the reviews. However, it was typical King. I didn't hear the grossness so many spoke of. Nonetheless, it was a good listen for cleaning the house.

Jake Sullivan is a licensed private eye with a seriously hardboiled attitude. He also possesses raw magical talent and the ability to make objects in his vicinity light as a feather or as heavy as depleted uranium, all with a magical thought. It's no wonder the G-men turn to Jake when they need someoneto go after a suspected killer who has been knocking off banks in a magic-enhanced crime spree.

GREAT READ
Revisado: 05-04-16
I had high expectations when I picked it up and, boy, I was not disappointed. Awesome. Simply awesome. The book grabs you early and doesn't let go. And it has everything - super-bad bad guys, zombies, dames, magic, and more. Plus, I loved the setting - a blend of steampunk and 30's and 40's pulp fiction rollicking adventure. A great read!

Historia
Ever since he was small, John Robison had longed to connect with other people, but by the time he was a teenager, his odd habits—an inclination to blurt out non sequiturs, avoid eye contact, dismantle radios, and dig five-foot holes (and stick his younger brother in them)—had earned him the label “social deviant.” No guidance came from his mother, who conversed with light fixtures, or his father, who spent evenings pickling himself in sherry. It was no wonder he gravitated to machines, which could, at least, be counted on.

I'll just say this book is interesting and enlightening. I do wish there would have been more about Asperger's and less about his life but still. A fascinating story, I'd recommend it.

Historia
Eve Dallas is the tough lieutenant hot on his trail, but this is unlike any case she’s ever been assigned - or any killer she’s ever pursued. A police sketch based on eye-witness testimony reveals the killer has green skin, swollen red eyes, goblin ears, and a dislocated jaw-structure that defies the human form. Is it a mask? Is it make-up? Or is the explanation more sinister? Dallas faces off against multiple suspects - all of them students of medicine capable of precisely slicing the ears, noses, and eyes of the three victims.

Revisado: 05-04-16
Another weird case for Eve and the gang, involving a demonic-looking, insane killer, scientists and former junkies.
People can do stupid things for stupid reasons and even experienced, tough cops, who think they've seen it all can be surprised.
Enjoyable as always.

Horrific threats concerning the brother and sister hit far too close to home for Eve, drawing her back into memories of her own tortured childhood.

Revisado: 05-04-16
Futuristic version of Hansel and Gretel. Two young children abducted by their psycho aunt drop electronic bread crumbs to help Lt. Eve Dallas and her team find them. Probably my favorite of the J.D. Robb short stories, in spite of the fact that it’s all about the case, not about relationships.

MUST READ
Revisado: 05-04-16
A riveting account of what really happened on the Danziger Bridge
in New Orleans during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina-and the lies fabricated by the NOPD. Reading this book I felt as if I lived through that day on the bridge and the aftermath, suffered the police lies and cover-up, and the trials. This is a must read book. Harrowing. The author does a good job detailing the facts and keeping his opinions on the sidelines, at least until the final chapter when he calls out Judge Kurt Englehart for some pretty gross judicial activism, which seems like well-warranted criticism.
