Fantastic fun!
Revisado: 11-19-23
As co creator of this fun adventure. I must say you’re in for a treat. We always wanted to port the Arthurian Legend over to a western. You’d be surprised at how well it lines up. But don’t take my word for it check it out yourself!
This will be multiple parts. So don’t think it ends here. The rest is coming! Enjoy!

Caught in one feud too many, he's on the verge of becoming a dead barbarian - leaving nothing behind him but bad songs, dead friends, and a lot of happy enemies. Nobleman, dashing officer, and paragon of selfishness, Captain Jezal dan Luthar has nothing more dangerous in mind than fleecing his friends at cards and dreaming of glory in the fencing circle. But war is brewing, and on the battlefields of the frozen North they fight by altogether bloodier rules.

Intense! Well Crafted! Best Narrator ever!
Revisado: 09-22-19
The title says it all. I discovered this series not knowing a single thing about it. I did not stop until I burned through all three books in this trilogy. I only took a break after these three so I could enjoy his other books in the world at a later time. This was also my first Steven Pacey narrated piece. He has to be the best narrator I've ever heard. He gives all the characters their distinct voice and you really feel the differences.

You either like vanilla ice cream or you don't.
Revisado: 09-22-19
Everyone likes ice cream. Clive Cussler is the delightful vanilla Ice cream of the action adventure genre. Always fun, always absurd to the point that makes you smile. Ever since I was a kid I've enjoyed the Dirk Pitt series. He's like Indiana Jones and James Bond in a scuba mask. This is the first one I've listened too. I wasn't disappointed, in fact it feels like getting together with an old friend. Clive Cussler books aren't going to change your life or your views on anything, they are just fun summer popcorn thrillers.

Historia
Two men, each handsome and unusually adept at his chosen work, embodied an element of the great dynamic that characterized America’s rush toward the twentieth century. The architect was Daniel Hudson Burnham, the fair’s brilliant director of works and the builder of many of the country’s most important structures, including the Flatiron Building in New York and Union Station in Washington, D.C. The murderer was Henry H. Holmes, a young doctor who, in a malign parody of the White City, built his “World’s Fair Hotel” just west of the fairgrounds.

Wow.
Revisado: 09-22-19
This is such a strange true tale. It's completely crazy how easily H. H. Holmes pulled this off. Almost as equally fascinating is the telling of the building and start of the Worlds Fair. If you are into true crime at all. Or even just a history buff. This is a must.

Historia
Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special 12-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted fans of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.

Pretty solid like most King efforts
Revisado: 09-22-19
Lets face it he's a really good writer that knows how to start and get you interested in a story, but isn't necessarily sure how to finish said tale. Not to say this ending is bad. Certainly not as bad as some of his books, its okay. But right near the end I started to say to myself "hmmmm really?" and "wait what's happening?" Just a little bit, not enough to ruin this. It's still a good listen and Will Patton does a great job.

After 10 mins I was done.
Revisado: 08-17-19
I can't really write a review since I was so disinterested within the first 10 mins I deleted it. I am super glad it was one of those free choices Audible offered for my gold membership. I can start with the narrators voice being awful enough I knew I couldn't listen to him tell a story. As a side note this is YA, which is also not my style.

I normally love his books...
Revisado: 08-17-19
This one just stretched a few things a little too far. Yeah I know, I know, it's what Rollins does and normally I'm cool with that. But this was my least favorite of the series so far. I'm a little tired of the narrator as well, he's not bad, just kind of dry. I go through a lot of books on Audible and this was the very first time I ever tried the 1.5 speed option to finish the book. Which kind of made it funny and more tolerable at the end.
I'll give it about a month before I move onto the next book in the series. There's a new narrator for that one so we shall see.

It's no book 1
Revisado: 02-18-17
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I really enjoyed book 1 but this one felt "phoned in" the performance was fine but once the sentient things start arguing with each other the voices became very over the top and I started to cringe when certain things would talk. The story was shoe horned into an old D&D module I enjoyed as a kid, but it really feels forced. I haven't decided if I'll give book 3 a chance yet as this was just too silly at times.

Wow Flashback city
Revisado: 02-18-17
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This book was fantastic. My brother has been trying to get me to check it out for years. I'm so glad I finally did. It's chock full of the stuff I grew up on, this was a pleasure from beginning to end...it even started me into playing DnD again. Wait, maybe thats not a good thing. LOL
Which character – as performed by Wil Wheaton – was your favorite?
At first Will felt very..."Will" but I soon got into it and its clear he was a fan of the story, he really gets into it.
Any additional comments?
If you grew up in the 80s this is for you and you're welcome.
