Historia
A year after becoming sheriff, Quinn Colson is faced with the release of an infamous murderer from prison. Jamey Dixon comes back to Jericho preaching redemption, and some believe him; but for the victim’s family, the only thought is revenge. Another group who doesn’t believe him - the men in prison from Dixon’s last job, an armored car robbery. They’re sure he’s gone back to grab the hidden money, so they do the only thing they can: break out and head straight to Jericho themselves. Colson and his deputy, Lillie, know they’ve got their work cut out for them.

Disappointing.

Would you try another book from Ace Atkins and/or Brian d'Arcy James?
Maybe.
What was most disappointing about Ace Atkins’s story?
If you want to read a "Yes, Jesus loves me" testimonial then go ahead. Two thirds of the book were quite entertaining but the last part describing the tornado and its aftermath was just much too tedious. I found myself skipping several chapters. And what's up with the Jesus love fest? It was like watching Jimmy Lee Swaggart on Sunday morning.
What aspect of Brian d'Arcy James’s performance would you have changed?
Some of the characters sounded exactly the same but overall his performance was enjoyable.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment because I enjoyed Mr. Atkins' other stories a lot more.
Any additional comments?
Mr. Atkins, turn the Jesus talk down a bit. I don't mind religious or spiritual talk or twist in a story because I know it is a big part of many people's lives but this was way over the top.

At the same time, an abused-child case leads Quinn and his deputy, Lillie Virgil, deep into the heart of a bootleg baby racket and a trail of darkness and death. When the cases collide, Quinn and his allies realize they are in the fight of their lives.

Has The Lost Ones turned you off from other books in this genre?
Yes.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
The narration was OK although some of the characters sounded exactly the same.
Do you think The Lost Ones needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No.
Any additional comments?
I do not mind certain amount of religious or spiritual twist to a story. I know that it is important to a lot of people and is a big part of their identity but this was way over the top. Tone it down please Mr. Atkins I enjoy your stories too much for that.

Historia
This brilliant new treatment of the world's oldest epic is a literary event on par with Seamus Heaney's wildly popular Beowulf translation. Esteemed translator and best-selling author Stephen Mitchell energizes a heroic tale so old it predates Homer's Iliad by more than a millennium.

What a gem!
Revisado: 09-01-14
Where does Gilgamesh rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This story is one of the most poignant stories in all of human history.
What did you like best about this story?
How do we deal with the death of loved ones? If you ever experienced a tragedy of losing your soulmate you will see yourself in Gilgamesh and his anguished cries after losing Enkidu.
Which character – as performed by George Guidall – was your favorite?
I did not care much about George Guidall's performance in Longmire mysteries but I absolutely loved his performance in Gilgamesh! His mature voice, experience and expert pacing was beautifully measured and expressive. The way he portrayed the characters in the epic was priceless.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The beginning of the story is absolutely magical and draws you in as if in a dream.
Any additional comments?
