Overall this is a good continuation. However, there is a lot more jumping around between POVs in this book, some of which I found myself just not caring about. I mainly wanted to follow Alex and her developing situation, but it seemed like every time that plot started to gain momentum the narrative cut away to one of the side plots and I just felt frustrated.

I'm also not fond of how Alex has developed as a character. She started the series off as a capable of naive character, quick to adapt and learn. This book in particular seemed to strip away a lot of her capabilities, and not just because of her situation. She seemed way more passive and unwilling to step up. It really frustrated me toward the end when virtually all of her agency was removed and she became a passenger in someone else's story, just going along while someone else made the big decisions and took action.

I really hope things improve going forward.

This was an extremely enjoyable story that had me on the edge of my seat and left me eager for more. I sincerely hope this story is continued in subsequent books.

This was easily one of the worst stories I have ever read. Badly written with ridiculous Mary Sue characters and unbelievable fights. Bizarre pop culture references and product placement scream of the auther trying way to hard to make the reader believe it is the "real world". In all this book is a horrible mess and a waste of time and money.
