I found the book to start off great, but became bored toward the end. There are times the author goes off on tangents about things like her dating relationships that don’t really have a huge impact on the main point of the book. I did have a few laughs along the way as there are things the author talks about that only those who have had similar experiences can understand. The author did a great job reading the book. I prefer when the person who writes it also records the audio. Overall, I’d say if you have a few credits to burn it’s a good listen if you have a dead mom. Not one of my favorites though.

Like many hot button political issues, capital punishment is right up there with abortion, guns, LGBTQ rights, and race issues. Many people have strong opinions, on how things should be, but only a few have real experience up close and person with the issue. And those experiences may change minds. This is not an easy topic to listen to. At times, it’s depressing. However, it’s worth opening your mind to the reality that is the death penalty in America and how it’s dealt out. Michelle certainly had unique jobs that required her to watch so many die, and it’s amazing that she has seemed to keep it together as well as she has. I’m not sure I could get even one execution out of my mind. Good work on telling your story. Well done! My only complaint…I would have rather listened to Michelle narrate the book versus the woman who did. I just preferred her delivery more.

Lifelong Pens fan and a season ticket holder for many years…this was a great listen and I found it entertaining and enlightening even though I have been following the team for so long. It would be great to have more NHL player stories told like this one was.

This is a good short listen that gives people like me with minor anxiety some tips on what to do when the alarms starting going off. It’s not in depth, but it is a good listen.

I am 33 with $140,000 in combined retirement savings. I invest about 25% yearly across my Vanguard Roth IRA and Roth 401k accounts in mutual funds and ETFs as well as dabbling in some single stocks and ETFs in a smaller Robinhood brokerage account.

JL Collins’ book, The Simple Path to Wealth provides simple, sound advice on saving and investing. Why is it so simple? He basically recommends 1 mutual fund, VGSAX, the Vanguard Total Stock Market Fund (or its duplicate ETF). It is a low fee fund that provides good growth, year after year.

As a younger investor, I can confirm that with only about 15 years of investing under my belt, that JL Collins’ advice is right on. It’s not just about the fund he suggests that you invest in, but the mentality of always looking for ways to save more and the importance of starting early.

This is a great book for new investors. It would make an amazing high school or college graduation gift! It’s also valuable for veteran investors and savers as it will keep you on track and remind you of the long game.

Great book and great narration!

The author lost me when he talked about going to the bank to take out a loan and used the money to invest. Debt is dumb! He also advises against investing in mutual funds or ETFs or any kind and believes in only buying dividend stocks. Horrible garbage advice. I recommend The Simple Path to Wealth by JL Collins and The Total Money Makeover and Financial Peace by Dave Ramsey and Everyday Millionaires by Chris Hogan versus this garbage. Those books are available on audible and provide good advice that is easy to follow and legitimate. The narrator is good and clear, but wow, this is just not a good book.

This is a great book for men to read/listen to as it will help you quite a bit. It is not one of those annoying “pick up artist” books, though many probably place it in that genre. While the focus of the book is on how to have successful relationships with women, Corey’s teachings can also be applied to your life overall. The big takeaways are to be your best self and always be working to improve, don’t settle for less and don’t force relationships. Allow things in life to happen naturally and at the pace it’s supposed to, but with your help through thoughtful actions. Really a good listen/read especially while everyone is still pretty much locked in due to COVID. Great opportunity for some self reflection and self help.

This audio book was very eye opening to what Monica experiences and her life, in addition to a look at what happens after death, or at least through Monica’s eyes. She is a great narrator and seems like a great person. I want to hope that her description of our lives and afterlife and the relationships that we have on earth transitioning into the afterlife is true.

As a Penguins fan, I mostly remember Avery’s 2008
and 2009 seasons with the Rangers as the teams met in the playoffs, but was also aware of his overall game and what he brought to his team. I heard about this book when it came out, and when I had a free audible credit, I decided to give it a listen.

I love that the book is read by Avery himself. Also, he starts where his NHL career begins and does not bore us with childhood stories. My favorite part of the book was the stories he told about his time in Detroit. I was confused as to why he described himself a Stanley Cup champion though, because his name isn’t on the cup as he didn’t play enough games with the team. He also talks about the NHL lockout, of course Brodeur, his dating life, and his other interests outside the game and overall outlook on life.

For Avery, hockey was more of a job than a lifestyle. I feel like many times athletes focus on how the sport is their life. Avery is not like that and I really enjoyed his book because of it. Definitely worth a listen for hockey fans.

This book will re-hash a lot of information that those who are fans of the genre and the time period already know, but at times it goes into more details and reveals new information that you may not be aware of.

For those who are curious and who don't have the knowledge, this could be a 5/5 book as it provides a great overview of the artists, the time period, and other factors involved.

The reader did a great job and it was very listenable.
