Historia
The murder of Athalia Ponsell Lindsley is notorious more than four decades after it occurred. The only eyewitness said a man attacked Lindsley with a machete in broad daylight on the front steps of her white mansion. Gossip swirled that neighbor Frances Bemis knew who killed Lindsley and would notify authorities. Bemis was later murdered on her nightly walk. Police arrested only one suspect for Lindsley's murder, which remains unsolved to this day.

The tragedy of the situation and the bias and prejudice towards Athalia.
Revisado: 03-25-24
The narrator was fantastic! His inflections emphasized key points and irony in the story. The way the story flowed a d the divisions into sections s made it easy to understand while listening.

One of Robert Louis Stevenson’s best creepy storied
Revisado: 10-13-23
Stevenson’s attention to detail added to the drama of his creepy stories. He portrayed the characters so well and showed how a basically good man could be seduced to do bad acts. The ending was a surprise.
The narrator did a masterful job of adding to the drama as well as doing great accents. Well done!

Historia
The body of a blonde young man found in the canal is discovered to be that of a journalist who had been claiming he was onto the story of a lifetime. The area where he was murdered turns out to be subject to a land dispute. A young woman is adamant she remembers a childhood twin brother, but her father swears she’s an only child. And now a second young blonde is missing. Rachel King and her East Manchester CID team must determine what links this all together - or are they being led to draw connections which aren’t there? And if so, who is pulling their strings?

Great story with many twists
Revisado: 09-15-23
I very much enjoyed the story. It had many twists that made identifying the killer complicated.
The narrator used the same voice for all of the characters, so I was sometimes confused about which character was speaking. If not for that, I would have given it 5 stars.

Very enjoyable!
Revisado: 05-18-23
I enjoyed this story. I liked the characters, who had a lot of depth. I kept thinking I had figured out the mysteries, but I never did until the end! I couldn’t wait to get back to listening to it each time.

Historia
Listen to A Chain of Evidence with a movie-style soundtrack and amplify your audiobook experience. The Mystery: "Mr. Stone," I began, "if three persons spent the night in an apartment so securely locked on the inside that there was no possible means of ingress, and if in the morning it was found that one of those three persons had been murdered at midnight, would you say that the guilt must rest upon either one or both of the other two persons?” (Carolyn Wells) The solution - who knows?

Story was great, not so much the audio
Revisado: 12-11-21
The story was very interesting. However, the music was distracting. Also, the narrator had a melodious voice, but he mispronounced some words and had a habit of hesitation between words. Overall, I recommend the book because the story is worth it.
