Great Book for Every Parent
Revisado: 05-24-23
This book is vulnerable and powerful. It tells the messy story of finding and following Christ and raising children and yourself in a fallen world. It’s transparent and refreshing while giving a reality filled dose of hope and down to earthness in what it looks like to raise children while taking on the guilt and pride of their failures and successes. I loved it!!!

Historia
Many young African Americans are disinterested in Christianity and others are leaving the church in search of what these false religious ideas appear to offer, a spirituality more indigenous to their history and ethnicity. Edited by Dr. Eric Mason and featuring a top-notch lineup of contributors, Urban Apologetics is the first book focused entirely on cults, religious groups, and ethnocentric ideologies prevalent in the black community.

For every believer everywhere!!
Revisado: 01-17-23
I love that this book is not some angry attempt to dispel the whitewashing of Christianity but through a thorough presentation of history intertwined with the history of the Gospel, Urban Apologetics presents a well formed apologetic for apologetics. It’s for all people but because so much has been intentionally done to stand between people of color and the cross, this books builds the case for the necessity of the undoing and repentance of the church. This is a book I will use as a guide of study that I may present the Gospel to those who are lost through both lifestyle apologetics and a sound, Holy Spirit led presentation of the Gospel.

What a beautifully written book that is such a timely message of authentic connection in a cultured plagued by the allusions on social media and other platforms where we are seemingly over connected yet so lonely an left wanting for real relationships where you are seen, known and loved. Jennie tells you exactly how to break through those facades and grab hold of the real thing!

For Every Parent, Everywhere!!
Revisado: 05-20-22
I loved every minute of this book!! It’s brave and kind and life giving. It challenges the status quo of what family life can be and how far reaching the safe places we create for our children and others can be. It reinvigorated me in my own mothering journey and gave me many ideas to feast on to enrich the lives of my children and family. It opens a whole new world of possibility not just for home educators but for any parent wanting to raise kind, compassionate and good humans. A must read!

Theologically rich yet down to earth and practical, Garden City speaks to all of us who are searching for our calling in life or just trying to find meaning in the everyday. In the end this audiobook is an invitation to ask the ancient, primal, human question: Why am I here, and what should I do about it?

Unexpected Blessing
Revisado: 04-20-21
I didn’t know that what I would find in the pages of this book would be so life altering. The unexpected blessing of turning back towards the practice of Shabbat or Sabbath was not a topic even close to my radar. But I now realize, if you are going to talk about excellence in work you must address rest. This was such a sweet gift of restoration for my family. After I read it, my husband read the book as well and was “fired up” about resting well. I highly recommend this book!
