Great book, Bad narrator
Revisado: 04-22-25
The story is intriguing with a great start to world building. I am excited to see what comes next.
The narrator is horrible. He sounds like someone doing a breathy imitation of Captain Kirk from ToS Star Trek. As well as making a 20~ man sound like he is in his late 50s with a smokers voice.

Great story bad reader
Revisado: 04-22-25
The story continues to be engaging and allows for the mysteries of the world to deepen. The narrator still is bad. He sounds like someone doing a breathy imitation of Captain Kirk from ToS Star Trek.

Spoilers. Will not be continuing the series
Revisado: 04-21-25
I am done with this series. I listened until I had four hours left and then the whole, you're on earth thousandths of years in the future and magic is real, crap. It's a trope and not even a good one. Lazy writing and not an enjoyable twist.

Just a depressing slog
Revisado: 04-08-25
This book is not like the others, it's a depressing slog that honestly doesn't have the fun lightness and silliness that the rest of the books do. It goes from bad to worse. Maybe the author had depression when writing it. I will be done with the series after this.

Historia
Max was murdered, but now he is mostly over it. Living on earth as a recent college graduate, he can still perfectly recall his past life on the fantasy world of Albion before that. He'd been hailed as the "Hero of the World" after crawling his way up from poverty, eventually enjoying great fame and luxury. But on mana-starved Earth, he's just a guy.

Hogwarts while the world burns
Revisado: 02-25-25
I was able to make it 4 hours into the book and then just couldn't anymore. The premise was great. A hero from another world get reborn after being murdered, Lives a mundane life on an non-magical planet. Remembers his past life and is able to use those memories to help him fight. Then the world gets invaded by monsters. He fights some monsters and saves some people, A message pops up asking if he wants to get stronger. He says yes as monsters fight and people die around him, at which point he gets transported to adult Hogwarts were there is no real rush to get back to earth.
This is seriously jarring and cringy as hell. Even if it gets better later on, the level writing and pace of the book is just bad. The world is being attacked and my family and friends could be dying, oh well can't be late for fifth period. Ugh... Go read Dungeon Crawler Carl you'll have more fun.

"No killing Goblins." So reads the sign outside of The Wandering Inn, a small building run by a young woman named Erin Solstice. She serves pasta with sausage, blue fruit juice, and dead acid flies on request. And she comes from another world. Ours. It's a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a Dragon. She doesn't belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where Humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.

Historia
In a blink, I found myself in an unknown land, greeted by the textbox of an unfriendly system. It wanted me to become a great hero, save the world, win the love of the people and all that crap. But this new world already had a hero. Why should I bust my ass, deal with dragons and the unknown, for people I didn't know? Let him deal with that. It's his job! So instead of being tempted by the system's nonsense, I chose a simple class. Potion maker. I wasn't interested in cultivating mana and defying the heavens, courting death, none of that crap.

Beware of Chicken copycat
Revisado: 02-03-25
Don't get me wrong, it is somewhat enjoyable. It just feels like the author took Beware of Chicken ran it through ChatGPT with instructions to change it a little, then copy/pasted. Unless you don't have anything better on your list, go with Beware of Chicken and save your money/credit.

Historia
24/7 Demon Mart: Publisher's Pack features two books from the 24/7 Demon Mart series: The Graveyard Shift, book one, and Monster Burger, book two. It also includes the bonus Hell for the Holidays, a 24/7 Demon Mart Christmas special. Lloyd Wallace is the most clueless crossing guard the intersection of hell and earth has ever seen. So clueless, that he doesn't even realize the beer cave in the corner store where he works is the gateway to hell.

MC is whiny, overly dumb, and a pathetic sad sack.
Revisado: 01-15-25
The reader does a good job of separating out each characters voice and makes it easy to follow along with the story. There were some voices that I found to be grating and annoying to listen to, particularly the valley girl.
The MC is just too pathetic and dumb to be relatable or feel bad for. He isn't interesting and there is no real progression in his personality. This is a must skip.

Historia
When it comes to action and adventure, every hero needs a good sidekick. Holmes has Watson, Batman has Robin, and Daniel has . . . Orrin. More like brothers than friends, they always have each other's backs. And as Daniel is the big, strong, handsome type, Orrin is more than happy to remain in his shadow at school, at parties, pretty much everywhere. Then things take a turn for the truly weird when a terrible accident catapults the pair into a world totally unlike their own, in which the rules of a role-playing game hold sway.

Honestly, A lot of Fun, Except for one minor issue
Revisado: 05-06-24
The story is well thought out and a lot of fun to read/listen to. I am not saying it is the best of the best. Just a fun listen. That is the story though. I am not sure who the %^*@ decided to direct the read to jar you out of the story by abruptly changing the tone and rhythm of the story, but when the classes and abilities are mentioned, no matter what it is done in a robotic voice that shatters the minds eye focus. If the director or reader or author is reading this. Please change how the reading is done. It ruins a fun book.

Historia
Long ago, men harnessed the Channels of Power, creating tevisrals: devices capable of manifesting magic. But men weren't the only ones to accomplish such feats. Dragons crafted the most sophisticated tevisrals. These shaped the world, defining civilization of man and elf alike. Over the centuries, the people of Kalda have fallen into a dark age, where elves are estranged from men and dragons have retreated into legend.

A stalker's love letter
Revisado: 02-15-23
I really wanted to write a full and detailed review for this book, but the amount of similarities I saw between The Wheel of Time and the Stormlight Archive is just too much. I really feel like this is someone who read those series and pulled the magic system, plot, names, and character names straight from them. The story is still fun and you can enjoy it, but it is hard to overlook the blatant mimicry bordering on copyright infringement of Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson's work. If you like those series you'll either enjoy this book because it's familiar or you'll hate it because it's too familiar.
Michael Kramer is awesome as always.
