Historia
It happens more than you might think. One second someone’s life is totally typical, the next it’s terribly tragic. Everything they had, everything they planned, everything they were, all of it vanishes in a flash. Shock and sorrow leave the victim staring into tomorrow’s void, wondering: How did it happen? Who did it? And why?

Fantastic story - scary that it is based on truth. Great narration. I couldn’t stop listening. Downloading Tigner’s other books now.

I Love Samantha Young, but this is a miss for me
Revisado: 05-25-14
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I would recommend the first book in this series but would probably skip this follow up book. The story alternates between past and present day, which can work in some books, but in this case, it is the very near past vs. present, and I think it becomes somewhat confusing (particularly if you do not have the opportunity to listen to the book in a single setting). I also did not particularly like the narrator for this book (it felt more like someone was reading the book to me than "narrating" the book). In fairness, I did not have much difficulty with the same narrator in the first book. Perhaps, the story overall in the first book was so good that I did not notice a somewhat generic "reading" feeling that permeated this book. Again, I would rate Samantha Young's books amongst some of my all time favorites (I LOVED the Dublin Street books), and I will likely continue to read every book that she writes - for the angst, compelling story, sizzling romance and fantastic characterization. However, while this book has some moments of that brilliance, it did not deliver the overall experience of her other books.

Narrator Truly Inappropriate for Book
Revisado: 03-23-14
Would you try another book from J. C. Reed and/or Romy Nordlinger?
I have listened to hundreds of audio books, and while the narrator can really turn a good book to great for me, I have always been able to get past a less than ideal narrator - even if I felt the voice was not quite right. In this instance, I could not finish the book. The "pack a day"/grandma voice (my apologies to the narrator but that is truly what it sounds like) was so distracting to the story that I could not continue. I usually listen to the book sample for a couple of minutes, but I did not in this case. Big mistake. I Strongly recommend that you listen to the sample before buying this book. I can't imagine the author ever envisioned the book with this voice.
Would you be willing to try another one of Romy Nordlinger’s performances?
Only for a very specific type of character - heavy smoker/much older woman

Historia
The follow-up to the runaway bestsellers On Dublin Street and Down London Road. Despite her outgoing demeanor, Olivia is painfully insecure around the opposite sex - usually, she can't get up the nerve to approach guys she's interested in. But moving to Edinburgh has given her a new start, and, after she develops a crush on a sexy postgrad, she decides it's time to push past her fears and go after what she wants. Nate Sawyer is a gorgeous player who never commits, but to his close friends, he's as loyal as they come.

LOVE this series!
Revisado: 01-12-14
What did you love best about Before Jamaica Lane?
It is unique and wonderful when a book makes you feel like you are hearing, seeing and feeling the story, and the entire Dublin series does that for me. I typically do not prefer a "friends to lovers" story line, but it REALLY works in this book and does not seem as contrived as you might expect when reading the book description. I could not stop listening to this book and finished it in a day. I loved the prior Dublin Street books - not sure that I can pick a favorite, but this is tied for first with the others. Great story and character development, as well as fantastic dialogue, particularly in the hot, hot, hot sex scenes.
What does Lee Angel bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The narrator does an excellent job - really captures the nuances of each character.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Absolutely!
Any additional comments?
Can't wait for the next installment!
