Totally Unbelievable Story
Revisado: 03-29-25
As the series goes on the stories become less believable. It’s basically a comic book series now.

Historia
She was gone. Joe Pickett had good reason to dislike Dallas Cates, even if he was a rodeo champion, and now he has even more: Joe's 18-year-old ward, April, has run off with him. And then comes even worse news: The body of a girl has been found in a ditch along the highway - alive but just barely, the victim of blunt-force trauma.

Stories getting less believable as the series progresses.
Revisado: 03-24-25
The plot starts off as fairly believable but the ending is right out of a comic book. This writer can do better than this.

Historia
Everything about the man is a mystery: the massive ranch in the remote Black Hills of Wyoming that nobody ever visits, the women who live with him, the secret philanthropies, the private airstrip, the sudden disappearances. And especially the persistent rumors that the man’s wealth comes from killing people. Joe Pickett, still officially a game warden but now mostly a troubleshooter for the governor, is assigned to find out what the truth is, but he discovers a lot more than he’d bargained for. There are two other men living up at that ranch. One is a stone-cold killer who takes an instant dislike to Joe.

Historia
Joe Pickett's in his last week as the temporary game warden in the town of Baggs, Wyoming, but there have been strange things going on in the mountains, and his conscience won't let him leave without checking them out: reports of camps looted, tents slashed, elk butchered. And then there's the runner who simply vanished one day. Joe doesn't mind admitting that the farther he rides, the more he wishes he could just turn around and go home.

Ending was ridiculous
Revisado: 02-27-25
Good story until the end. It could have been clean and realistic but instead, the author chooses to get sanctimonious and tops it off with a wolf saying good bye. I am reading these books in order and they are starting to wander too far from what the main character would realistically have grown into.

Weakest of the Series (so far)

The story is a bit contrived and has too many weak threads connecting story lines. The main character’s behavior is getting more and more erratic.

Good Story, Narrator a Bit Annoying
Revisado: 07-11-24
The narrator spends a lot of time putting her own personal spin on things. It would be best if she just told the stories and let the listener decide how they feel about things. Overall a good listen.

An excellent look into the mind of a very intellectual person who is on the never ending journey of self discovery just like all of us. Bono’s journey was done in the theatre of the world. Great to have him be the narrator.

This astonishing device, responsible for storing and retrieving vast quantities of information that can be accessed at a moment's notice, is the human brain. How does such a dynamic and powerful machine make memories, learn a language, and remember how to drive a car? What habits can we adopt in order to learn more effectively throughout our lives? The answers to these questions are merely the tip of the iceberg in The Learning Brain.
