Do NOT listen to this book if you are driving because you will likely receive a speeding ticket. Great story with building tension. I really enjoy this collection of fairy tale retellings. This one has been my favorite so far.

Fantastic storytelling

Nancy Kimball's writing captivates me. The narrator does a tremendous job bringing Laelia and Drusus to life. Hero and heroine are well realized in first century Rome. A romance worth savoring. ❤️❤️❤️

Good listen for those who like mispronunciation
Revisado: 05-22-15
What would have made Andromeda better?
The story was OK. I had to stop listening 30 minutes in because of all the mispronounced words: Andromeda (c'mon - it's the title of the book!), Orion, Malachi. I'll probably finish reading it at some point.
Would you be willing to try another one of Joette Marie’s performances?
No. Her voice was nice enough but the mispronunciations were a deal breaker for me. If you don't know how to pronounce something, look it up! The dictionaries will read the words for you now.

A Clever Interweave of Urban Fantasy & Fairy Tale
Revisado: 01-26-15
What did you love best about UnEnchanted?
The story. It's like a fairy tale retelling on steroids. So clever that even though you know which fairy tale you're in, you can't figure out how the story will resolve. That is impressive to me!
What was one of the most memorable moments of UnEnchanted?
The end. It made me sad, but also hopeful for the series.
What does Khristine Hvam bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I love the voices she gives to the characters. Nan' voice, especially, but also Mina's.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I chuckled at several spots. The author did a great job with dialog and writing teens without making it feel contrived.

Wonderful voice
Revisado: 11-01-14
If you could sum up Finding Angel in three words, what would they be?
Magic. Destiny. Mystery.
What did you like best about this story?
The part of me that wanted to be Angel growing up. Hoping that there was a magical world out there somewhere that was my destiny.
Which character – as performed by Jeanne Whitehouse – was your favorite?
Gregor. Actually, any character she gave a Scottish lilt. Her delivery of voices and accents was magnificent.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes. At the end, but I can't say why because I don't want to spoil the book for others.
Any additional comments?
I read this book a couple of years ago and purchased the audiobook this year to listen to it again. I was moved by the description and enjoyed the story even more the second time. A well read audio book makes a story come alive. That is what this audio book has done. Well worth the money to listen to it.

Epic gladiator story
Revisado: 11-01-14
Where does Chasing the Lion rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It's one of my favorites.
What did you like best about this story?
There was a point when the story took a twist and headed off in a direction of its own. The point where Jonathan has to choose to become a gladiator. The premise was fresh and new to me and I really enjoyed reading to see how it would turn out.
Which scene was your favorite?
Any scene with Clovis. He was my favorite character. :)
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
It would be easier to ask which scenes didn't move me. It's hard to keep your self emotionally distant from Jonathan.
Any additional comments?
I enjoyed listening to the story more than I enjoyed reading it for myself. The narrator paces you so that you have to live through every beautiful word. And the voice of Jonathan is outstanding.

Wonderful storyworld
Revisado: 11-01-14
What did you love best about Mark of the Mage?
The world where the characters lived. The magic, the creatures, and especially the trees.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Lochlen, because he was a dragon. (duh)
What aspect of Valerie Gilbert’s performance would you have changed?
Her voice was wonderful and lyrical but she sounded too old and too jaded for a 16 year old girl.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Aigneis's death was a powerful scene.
Any additional comments?
The whole series was wonderful.
