Didn’t know so much….

I had no idea the of so much about Bono, and his members of the band, and his family. I am
I am really a “Bono fan” however, I always am interested in how people of notoriety became who they are and how they used their time on earth.
Bono clearly has a compassion to do things others may find to difficult or time intrusive. My only criticism is when any “entertainer” gets political as Bono does in the book. I don’t care what someone’s opinion of one politician or another. I am an intelligent person who is capable of deciding on my own so I do not need that drama or attempt to influence negativity toward someone in a book about someone’s life. Certain passages had nothing to do with the events of his life. I enjoyed the factual information about his meetings and what was discussed. However, he could have left out his negative attitude toward one or another. It ruins that part of the book for people if their opinion is different. I had to struggle through parts of the book and sadly would have missed out pertinent information had I gotten frustrated and fast forwarded through that section.
Bono includes many surprising events and exposure of emotional times in his life that gives anyone an inside to where his music comes from.

Making sense

There were a lot of things discussing in this book that I realize why I may have done something a certain way or forgotten to do something or thought a certain way. It’s very helpful and understanding my own brain. While my ADHD is not as bad as Penns, there are many tools to use that I am going to try to implement.. Better yet, i’m going to encourage anyone who has someone ADHD and their family to read this. Including my own family as many still do not recognize ADHD being even a diagnosis. Thank you for your courage to be forthcoming about your ADHD. I refuse to allow people to stigmatize ADHD and BARRY forced coming about it and I hope this book helps sellers become, more forthcoming and proud of who they are in the future

I had actually already watch the movie, so I had the gist of what was going to happen, but I was still kept wanting more of the story every chapter that went by. All I can say now is thank God that there are still good people in this world.

Inspiring and heroic

A friend suggested this book and it does not disappoint me. The narrator is perfect. It is very well written. The depth of the story brings you across the miles as a young woman is running through her home as a child in joy, you feel her fears at her loss of a friend and share her nightmares after. The movie of her life still plays through my mind, I can never imagine, truly living in the world that she had, and being able to accomplish so much. Her parents could not have been better parents. Kept my interest throughout. I pray that the future of Afghanistan will one day again, give the opportunities that she had. I hearing stories of the lack of respect of women in Afghanistan. Upon the return of my husband from deployment, hearing his stories, I am probably aware more than most of the difficulties women have faced for many years in the Country ruled by the Taliban. Our country, the USA, should be ashamed at the abandonment of people of this Country and allowing Afghani women to be persecuted once again. We may never know what positive and amazing contributions one Afghan woman would’ve had to the world.

Some people may read this book and think he is grandstanding....I read it and saw a man who stood tall and was not embarrassed by it.

Parts ok but narrator lacks Performance

The book was ok. Performance was pretty bad. I cringed every time the narrator talked for one of the wives. She makes them sound like a bunch of ninnies. Many times it just irritated me the dumb attitudes that were portrayed. As the wife of a soldier who served a tour in Afghanistan after two months training at Fort Bragg, I want everyone to know we are much stronger than this book portrays wives as.

Cute short story for the romantic

Nice story to get your mind off things. Well performed. I do not normally do short stories but this one made me want to listen to more.

Too predictable

I usually love her books but this one was much too predictable and in the spots not, just plain weird.
The story was too long too. Could have cut at least an hour of reading out.
