The Merry Band of Pirates stopped the enemy from stealing a Sentinel, and destroyed its Elder starship, so why weren’t the Pirates planning a victory party? The enemy was not what they thought it was. It was much, much worse.

I wish there were more
Revisado: 09-18-24
I liked the entire series until it just ended suddenly. I guess he injured his hand or arm. I have friends who lost their arm in Afghanistan and they still write autobiographical books and short stories. it's not hard to write without your hands today, voice to text and even dictation. it seems like someone could write regardless of injury after a break. it has been years now.

I love the series and the story but...
Revisado: 07-14-24
The story is great but Bob was portrayed as a real southerner for most of the series and then it changed. 13 minutes into book 11 they try to make him into a mentally disabled person. all of a sudden they take one of the most outgoing and personable person into someone who declares he is socially impaired. I understand that publishers and agents try to get writers to write about disabled characters but this is stupid and blatantly obvious to readers/listeners. Bob is personable and one of the most socially confident characters I have ever read about. to say he is "On the spectrum" is stupid. I have been diagnosed with Autism and PTSD from military service, he is obviously not "On the spectrum" and it's offensive to say so. He is a confident, caring, genuine and an honest southerner like I see everyday. This takes a great character and makes me want to stop listening instantly. I listen to 200 books a year, 234 last year, 217 the year before. I listen every single night and rather do so then watch TV or videos. I even listen in law school while working on homework to occupy my mind. This previously unfounded gem of a series was like discovering a winning lottery ticket for me, then this happened. I'm truly saddened by the decision.

As Dash and his team begin expanding the Forge, they must focus on Dark Metal as the one thing that can give them an advantage in the coming war. Using drones and a map from an ancient library, Dash and Leira must seek out the source of a transmission coming from far away. That source, however, is something far more valuable than they could have hoped: a fleet of ancient Unseen ships, waiting to be salvaged.

Historia
In 2059, two vastly different groups of people portrayed by the compelling trio of Brendan Fraser (Academy Award winner), Luke Kirby (Emmy Award winner), and Vanessa Sears (Dora Award winner) undergo cryonic suspension. While their bodies are frozen, their minds, still active and awake, are uploaded into a massive quantum computer. The first group are all astronauts, about to leave Earth on a one-way interstellar colonization mission. The second group consists of convicted murderers and volunteers who elect to serve their sentences in a virtual-reality prison.

propaganda in its classic form
Revisado: 01-24-24
if it had a non slanted story, it might have been good. As it is, it's nothing but far left drivel. If you remove all of the White guys are only gay, far left victims,, racist or rapists, it had a chance. I listen to 200,000 minutes plus a year, this is the first I have needed to review negatively. look at my reviews. it's just so far left that it hurts anyone in the middle, as most of us are. skip the propaganda and it might get better. btw, Mandela invented necklacing, that is strapping a tire soaked in fuel to a live person and dropping them in their neighborhood and lighting it. it smokes so the person becomes a warning to their peers. that's the Mandela I knew as a kid in Cape Town.

not liking the earth setting.
Revisado: 05-30-23
it's not fantasy, it's more like fiction drama.
I really don't like the earth based stories. it seems like he is explaining things we already know about over and over.
a highlight is when a character says "Stop talking like a cowboy" so he does and instead talks like a bad version of Crocodile Dundee the rest of the book.

Riding high on success, he and his team are looking to the future, preparing themselves for the challenges to come. While Jason’s personal enemies make plans, the greater foes plaguing his new home have been pushed to the brink.

Great story until...
Revisado: 05-20-23
As always the performance was great, the battles were awesome and characters were top notch. The epilog chapters (yes, I agree, epilogs should not have chapters) were great until...a stupid conspiracy theory story in the middle of it. If I wanted to listen to a story in our world I would search for one. I can't stand it.

The Alliance must destroy the Craing's wormhole means of distant space travel to avert Earth's total annihilation. Unfortunately, there's no way to reach the Craing worlds in time, at least not through conventional means.

Pretty sure a lack of knowledge can be blamed
Revisado: 09-25-22
Ok, first of all, I'm thinking the author is very uneducated. they do not know anything about the military but it seems like the author hates the military. there are lots of very goofy screw ups about the way the military works. There are even more screw ups about how government works. These are inclusive of but not limited to mobilization of forces, imminent domain, Congressional oversight, the role of each position.
My qualifications, I have 11 years enlisted, 10 Army Officer, 2 Naval officer and 4 as the liaison to Congress from Special Operations Command, MacDill AFB. I have worked with 21 Nations as a liaison to NATO forces. I also have been a part of 6 campaigns for President. have personally met 5 presidents and 7 DoD Secretary's. I know a little about this stuff...
The voice acting is a 2/10 mainly because of quality of recording and the mispronounced nomenclature for a lot of things. I have worked with a lot of SEALS, they are not the dumb brutes they are portrayed as. they act more like prisoners than SEALS and the civilian world will not put a monitoring ankle device on a SEAL who committed to offense that was created here. Command would most likely not bring it up and if it were discovered, the SEAL would have their trident broken and they would receive a big chicken dinner. The offense created here, is a minor RoE violation, a shoot board would recommend a punishment and most likely the seal would lose their command and they would ride the pine for a long time. Then they would not allow for the contract to be extended. not jail or bs ankle monitors. please hire a SME to fix your technical subjects. I am available and work cheap, really. ill work for a credit and 1%. but you'll do a lot better. so we will make more.
