Historia
If my childhood taught me anything, it was to survive. Now I have a deep-rooted mistrust of people and a wall of steel and ice surrounding my heart. So, when Reed Ryan steps into my life, I know I need to keep him far away. He’s everything I grew up hating. Fighting. Fleeing. Devastatingly handsome, he looks like a drunken regret and has heartbreak written over every inch of his body - literally. He’s the quintessential bad boy...and he’s a cop. But the man is my undoing.

I couldn't stop listening. it was gripping all the way through.
Revisado: 12-07-24
The author is great! The story flows beautifully. Not to wordy, just right. She doesn't spend pages and pages describing. The characters are well defined.
Nora went through a life of torment and deception. You'll feel for her all the way through.
Highly recommend!

The perfect neighborhood can be the perfect place to hide… Who wouldn’t want to live in Brighton Hills? This exclusive community on the Oregon coast is the perfect mix of luxury and natural beauty. Stunning houses nestle beneath mighty Douglas firs, and lush backyards roll down to the lakefront. It’s the kind of place where neighbors look out for one another. Sometimes a little too closely…

hard to get through. the main narrator was very good. All the others was a mass of over acting that ruined the audio version.

Historia
The first victim is attacked in her home. Tied to her bed. Forced to watch every unspeakable act of cruelty - but unable to scream. The second murder is even more twisted. Signed, sealed, and delivered with a message for the police, stuffed in the victim's throat. A fractured nursery rhyme that ends with a warning: "There will be more". For detective Jack Murphy, it's more than a threat. It's a personal invitation to play.

could have been a great story
Revisado: 04-20-24
the premises of the story was good. the main character was captured and trying to escape. she has two goals, getting her dossier and having sex, got tired of all her thoughts of sex and how sexy he was. Her thoughts of him where in every other paragraph. I think the story could have been good but the suspense was interrupted by her thoughts of how sexy he was over and over

Flip flops so much, I couldn't keep it straight
Revisado: 10-21-23
This story was so back and forth, I had to relisten several times. The idea was good. The monotone narrator with a little bit of emphasis might have helped. liked the characters.

the story moved at a nice pace until 3/4 way through.
the book fell apart at the end. almost like the author was tired of the book herself.

the story has a lot nonessential conversations and repeats. The narrator uses different voices that are annoying. if the story was just read without all the theatrics it might have been bearable.
