The main thing I will remember after finishing this book is that no matter what we have all been through, in the end it is still our choice to decide to if we want to let the demons of our past win the war by turning us into their little minions for us to create even more havoc in the world, or do what Stephen Smith did and still does to this day... try to be the best he can be despite it all. His philosophy is that while he cannot ever completely mute the battles or delete the images of his past that are engraved in his mind, he will win the war by being the complete opposite of his dad, doctor & priest, an amazing human being.

Holy crap, what a living legend. Over this past decade I've listened to thousands of hours of podcasts and audiobooks, fictional and non, and this goes up there with one of my top listens ever. Will definitely be recommending this to family and friends. I grew up with the Fresh Prince of Bellaire and his Summertime song so I could be biased but nonetheless, this book made me love Will even more. Forever a fan!
