Historia
Drawing on declassified documents, interviews with intelligence veterans and policymakers, and other sources, The Image of the Enemy examines how seven countries analyzed and used intelligence to understand their main adversary. The cases in the book include the Soviet Union's analysis of the United States (and vice versa), East Germany's analysis of West Germany (and vice versa), British intelligence in the early years of the Troubles in Northern Ireland, Israeli intelligence about the Palestinians, and more.

Great Book!
Revisado: 03-06-20
If you are an analyst, intelligence or otherwise, this book is worth checking out. It very much highlights the ways in which various forms of cognitive bias has affected intelligence analysis for decades, and provides proof versus assumptions/opinions. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

It is One Point of View
Revisado: 03-06-20
First, I was not overly enthused by the speaker (narrator). But I can write that up as a preference thing. More importantly, though, the author notes a handful of "successful American leaders" who relied on the teachings of people like Sun Tzu and Marcus Aurelius. The problem is, the leaders he references were responsible for what turned out to be some of the American military's greatest mistakes. Perhaps it was the time of the recording, but I was shocked to find out that the speaker teaches at the U.S. Naval War College. He's actually teaching this stuff to our current and future military leaders? Other may have different opinions about what Mr. Wilson offers in these lectures. I just was simply unimpressed. (Just my opinion, though)

Historia
In Happy Derren Brown explores changing concepts of happiness - from the surprisingly modern wisdom of the Stoics and Epicureans in classical times right up until today, when the self-help industry has attempted to claim happiness as its own. He shows how many of self-help’s suggested routes to happiness and success – such as positive thinking, self-belief and setting goals – can be disastrous to follow and, indeed, actually cause anxiety. Happy aims to reclaim happiness and to enable us to appreciate the good things in life, in all their transient glory.

Everyone Should Listen to this Book
Revisado: 03-06-20
I thought this book was very well researched, and that the argument(s) Derren Brown makes are clearly laid out and supported. Whether you are in your 20s and trying to figure life out, in your 40s and going through a rough time, or are just curious about different ways to look at life and goal making, this book is for you! It is not a here are the five steps to happiness. Instead, it dives into how to look at life from all angles, and then make a determination as to what is going on. Excellent book!!

How did Fidel Castro fool the CIA for a generation? Why did Neville Chamberlain think he could trust Adolf Hitler? Why are campus sexual assaults on the rise? Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true? While tackling these questions, Malcolm Gladwell was not solely writing a book for the page. He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you’ll hear the voices of people he interviewed - scientists, criminologists, military psychologists.

Very Insightful, and well produced!!
Revisado: 03-06-20
I was very happy with this book as a result of both the content and the production. Malcolm Gladwell uses both his own narration and recordings from interviews and some of the actual incidents he refers to. I heard him note in an interview on Dax Shephard's pod cast that he purposely wanted to create a new type of audi-book with this, and he has. The bar has been set! The book is well worth it, and kept me engaged the whole time.

Historia
In his landmark best seller The Tipping Point, Malcolm Gladwell redefined how we understand the world around us. Now, in Blink, he revolutionizes the way we understand the world within. Blink is a book about how we think without thinking, about choices that seem to be made in an instant, in the blink of an eye, that actually aren't as simple as they seem. Why are some people brilliant decision makers, while others are consistently inept?

Historia
Recent scientific studies have demonstrated one intriguing fact: People can be influenced to do nearly anything, under the right circumstances. Researchers found that without the use of force or even suggestion, participants could be influenced to behave in a highly unusual manner. Due to external influences alone, test subjects were compelled to behave outside of their true personalities, as a response to a well-designed trigger.

For frat guys trying to manipulate freshman girls
Revisado: 03-06-20
This book is ridiculous. within the first chapter it tries to show you how to control you emotions so you can convince a female you started dating to sleep with you. It offers that you could choose just a "make out session instead of sex", if you really wanted to. This book was written for the week minded frat guys who want to learn how to manipulate freshman girls into sleeping with them. I am actually shocked that there were good reviews for it. The narration is equally as annoying and condescending, as it tells you that if you don't agree with taking advantage of weaker people, this probably isn't the book for you. Find something better to spend your money on, preferably something based on actual science.
