Historia
By age twenty-four, Letty Davenport has seen more action and uncovered more secrets than many law enforcement professionals. Now a recent Stanford grad with a master’s in economics, she’s restless and bored in a desk job for U.S. Senator Colles. Letty’s ready to quit, but her skills have impressed Colles, and he offers her a carrot: feet-on-the-ground investigative work, in conjunction with the Department of Homeland Security.

Letty Davenport's first book.
Revisado: 08-16-22
This is the first Sandford book dedicated entirely to Lucas' adopted daughter Letty. The story is good. The narration is excellent. Ferrone never disappoints. If you haven't listened to the other Lucas Davenport books, this book stands alone. If you are a Sandford fan, you wont be disappointed. I love all of the John Sandford books.

AN UNEXPECTED LOOK @ YOUNG JACK REACHER & HIS DAD
Revisado: 11-27-14
I enjoyed this short story, as much as I have enjoyed ANY short story I ahve ever read, or listened to. I really enjoy the rare look into a young Jack Reacher's life. Gives the reader a good feel for how Reacher was brought up, and what makes him.......him., I guess. I liked it alot.

Not my favorite.....not my least favorite.
Revisado: 11-27-14
A short story, that lacks something. Not sure, what it is, but I just didnt enjoy this story, as much as I enjoy the books. It seemed rushed perhaps, or maybe the story itself, just isnt that good. Its worth the couple bucks it costs, but it doesnt measure up to the rest of the Reacher books. If there is going to be short stories, I like the type that go back, into Reacher's past, when he was a kid, give me some background. There is one like this, its title escapes me right now, but that one was a nice listen.

Historia
The year is 2008 and Samantha Kofer's career at a huge Wall Street law firm is on the fast track - until the recession hits and she gets downsized, furloughed, escorted out of the building. Samantha, though, is one of the "lucky" associates. She's offered an opportunity to work at a legal aid clinic for one year without pay, after which there would be a slim chance that she'd get her old job back. In a matter of days Samantha moves from Manhattan to Brady, Virginia, population 2,200, in the heart of Appalachia, a part of the world she has only read about.

Not Grisham's best work, in my opinion. GOOD ***
Revisado: 11-08-14
I love John Grisham's books, and I will continue to read/listen to his books as they come out. This book was dissapointing. It is a really good concept, with some really deep characters, as always. Polarizing characters, in each direction. But I found the ending a bit rushed, or maybe forced.? It almost seems like there could be a sequal, IDK. Maybe not. All I know for sure, is how it made me feel, and how I felt was, dissapointed, looking for more information, more closure, and this just might be my need for a tight little bow, at the end. But I really enjoyed this book, I love the setting, thie time, and the plot. I can relate to the characters, the lawyers and the clients. Grisham always does a great job, with the characters development (my opinion). I guess the greatest fault I find in this book, is the ending. Too short. Too 'untidy'. Not enough closure for me. He left some ?'s unanswered, some boxes left open, maybe thats what he wanted, and perhaps I am not sophisticated enough to completety understand or 'like', that type of ending. Read it, I think you'll like it. Why wouldn't you read it?

Historia
Six months ago, Lucas Davenport tackled his first case as a statewide troubleshooter, and he thought that one was plenty strange enough. But that was before the Russian got killed. On the shore of Lake Superior, a man named Vladimir Oleshev is found shot dead, three holes in his head and heart, and though nobody knows why he was killed, everybody - the local cops, the FBI, and the Russians themselves - has a theory. And when it turns out he had very high government connections, that's when it hits the fan.

EXCELLENT LISTEN, AS ALWAYS.
Revisado: 03-02-14
I am partial to the "PREY SERIES", by John Sandford. I have read/listened to them all. They are my favorite. This book is one of many, Sandford books that will not dissapoint, if you like this genre. Well written, and the narrator does a wonderful job. The combination writer, narrator, is the best I have found. Every John Sandford audiobook, is as goodas the last. If you like murder, mystery, suspense, thriller, you will like this series, these books are just plain good, very good. Try one. Start with "Rules of Prey", book one, and work your way down the list. Trust me.

PRETTY GOOD STORY, OVERALL A GOOD LISTEN.
Revisado: 03-02-14
I enjoyed this book, it pulled me in. I start listening to alot of books, in which I do not finish. I finished this one, although, I didnt like the ending. I would have liked to learn more about the killer. I would have liked to see more of the story through his eyes. I enjoyed the protagonist, and his point of view. As the story, drew to a close, and then ended, I felt unsatisfied. I wanted more of the story. It ended ubruptly, I thought. I would recommend this book, if you like this genre. Murder, mystery, thriller(maybe).

As raiders and explorers, the Vikings played a decisive role in the formation of Latin Christendom, and particularly of western Europe. Now, in a series of 36 vivid lectures by an honored teacher and classical scholar, you have the opportunity to understand this remarkable race as never before, studying the Vikings not only as warriors, but in all of the other roles in which they were equally extraordinary - merchants, artists, kings, raiders, seafarers, shipbuilders, and creators of a remarkable literature of myths and sagas.

Good Informational Listen
Revisado: 10-03-13
I liked it. I enjoy history, and with this book, history is what you get. The narration is obviously a bit different, since it is a compilation of lectures. College style. I know this might bore some listeners, but I enjoyed it. It is, what it is, no more, no less, an informative lesson on Norse history, a bit of Norse mythology, and what seems to be a true account, and a timeline, of the Scandinavian people, and their culture, their customs, and their history. If you enjoy history, and nonfiction, I think you should give it a shot. Especially if your of Norwegian heritage.

The "maddog" murderer who is terrorizing the Twin Cities is two things: insane and extremely intelligent. He kills for the pleasure of it and thoroughly enjoys placing elaborate obstacles to keep police befuddled. Each clever move he makes is another point of pride. But when the brilliant Lieutenant Lucas Davenport, a dedicated cop and a serial killer's worst nightmare, is brought in to take up the investigation, the maddog suddenly has an adversary worthy of his genius.

Start Here! Book One.
Revisado: 07-11-13
The first in a series of over 20 Lucas Davenport books. I didnt start with this one, and you don't have to start with this one, they are very well written, well developed, loveable characters, one can really relate to. I have read/listened to all of John Sandfords books, and I truly love them all. I do. In 'Rules of Prey', we get to know Lucas, a Minneapolis detective who discovers his love and talent for hunting murderers. A narcotics/robbery cop, with a net of people on the streets, uses his connections to hunt down the Mad Dog. Sandford does a great job with all of his books, this one especially since it is his first in a wonderful series. If you enjoy this type of book, this genre, you'll enjoy this series. I live only 100 miles from Minneapolis, in WIsconsin, and all of the stories are basically based in Minneapolis, a couple of the stories wander into northern Wisconsin and northern Minnesota. If you are from any of these places, you will find that Sandfords descriptions of these towns and cities, are fully accurate, and you will really enjoy the familiarity.
I really love this series of books. I would tell anyone who would listen, to get one try it out, maybe you will like it as I do, maybe not, but its worth one listen, I think.

Historia
Murder. Scandal. Politics. And one billionaire heiress so dangerous in so many ways. An explosive Lucas Davenport thriller from number one New York Times best-selling author John Sandford. All hell has broken loose in the capital. An influential state senator has been caught with something very, very nasty on his office computer. The governor can’t believe it - the senator’s way too smart for that, even if he is from the other party. Something’s not right.

JOHN SANDFORD DOESN'T DISAPPOINT, AGAIN.
Revisado: 05-13-13
A very good book, per usual. I am a huge John Sandford fan, and every six months I literally can't wait until his next book arrives. The Prey Series is my favorite Sandford series. I used to read them all, now I listen to them. I expect so much from them, I want them to live up to my expectations, and 'Silken Prey' does exactly that. It has a very good story, with well developed characters, one in particular, that everyone can relate to and unilaterally despise. Along with the regular cast of characters, which do not disappoint, EVER. I really wish I was just now, discovering the 'Prey Series' and could listen to them, just now, for the very first time. If that is you, DO IT!!! NOW!!! Don't wait, start now.
This book.is classic, Sandford, with classic and typical Sandford elements. Suspense, mystery, brutality, a little gore, some nasty people, some great people, some surprises, the usual charm and humor, and most important of all, a story line that is really, second to none.
So if you are on the fence whether or not to buy and listen or you are just looking for a good book lo listen to, just buy it. You can thank me after you listen. Or, a better idea, go get 'Rules of Prey', and listen to it, then go and get 'Shadow Prey', and listen to it, then go get, 'Eyes of Prey', listen to it, and then go and get 'Silent Prey'.......And like I said before, you can thank me after. And, Your Welcome. : -)

Bonnie and Clyde, they thought. And what's-his-name, the sidekick. Three teenagers with dead-end lives, and chips on their shoulders, and guns. The first person they killed was a highway patrolman. The second was a woman during a robbery. Then, hell, why not keep on going? As their crime spree cuts a swath through rural Minnesota, some of it captured on the killers' cell phones and sent to a local television station, Bureau of Criminal Apprehension investigator Virgil Flowers joins the growing army of cops trying to run them down.
