Historia
Seven years ago Kaylin fled the crime-riddled streets of Nightshade, knowing that something was after her. Children were being murdered— and all had the same odd markings that mysteriously appeared on her own skin….Since then, she's learned to read, she's learned to fight and she's become one of the vaunted Hawks who patrol and police the City of Elantra. Alongside the winged Aerians and the immortal Barrani, she's made a place for herself, far from the mean streets of her birth.

Interesting twist.

Wasn't what I expected but it had some interesting twists in it. I enjoyed it and will continue the series.

Historia
Centuries ago the human race fought its first great war against an alien race - and lost. A tiny population of human beings fled to distant Safehold. Centuries later their descendants have forgotten their history; for them, life has been an eternal Middle Ages, ruled by the Church of God Awaiting, whose secret purpose is to prevent the reemergence of industrial civilization. But not all of Safehold's founders were onboard with this plan. Those dissidents left behind their own secret legacies.

Bad language but great story.
Revisado: 10-30-19
I really enjoyed this book as well as the ones before it. The series is a little more military than I am usually prone to read but a great story anyway. My only complaint is the swearing. Taking the Lords name in vain was really unneeded for the story and the swearing was unworthy of the writer.

Where does Redoubt rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
That's a tough one. I love the Valdemar series! All of them.
What other book might you compare Redoubt to and why?
Can't think of one actually other than other Valdemar books.
Which character – as performed by Nick Podehl – was your favorite?
Mags, of course! He made Mags into a real person.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes, when Mags was chosen! That was awesome.
Any additional comments?
I wish all of the Valdemar books were available on audible. I would buy everyone!
