I love how Ms. Webber makes the unimaginable feel so real. I wish there were towns and worlds just like what is created in Ms. Webber creates.

The cast of characters

Sometimes the book was hard to follow. It seemed to bounce around and could be hard to follow. After the first few chapters I was ready to give up. As this was a book club choice I felt I needed to follow through and just read it. I am so glad I did continue because it was such a compelling and beautiful story. I don’t want to spoil this book but keep going even if it is difficult and you won’t be disappointed.

Another fabulous Nora Roberts story!

I have never been disappointed by Ms. Roberts. I read the two prior books and couldn’t wait for the final in this trilogy. Now I am sad as I have finished. I find I always want more of characters and worlds created!

Could have been so much better!!

I never write reviews even on books I love. However this book was such a huge disappointment! Parts of the book were gripping but the story was very inconsistent! The ending was unbelievable and fell short of any kind of real explanation!

So Very Disappointed

I could not wait for this book. I preordered and the day the book dropped I was over the moon with anticipation. Boy was I surprised at how much I disliked this story. I listened for the first day thinking the story would get better but it didn’t. The best part was the love story between the dogs. I am a huge Nora fan but her formula is getting old and I was hoping this story would be different. This story was very dark and there was so much death and violence. I could not finish the book because I knew the ending by the middle of the book. I hope Nora can come up with something different in the future.

The performance was spectacular but the story ended before it began.

Extraordinary, sensual and beautifully written!

Would you listen to Balustrade again? Why?

Balustrade is compelling and not a book I wanted to see end. The characters are well developed and easy to relate to. The dialog is cohesive, funny and smart. This book is wrapped around a mystery, which is not given away until the very last page. I am not one who likes to read a book which is predictable, so I was delighted to be surprised all the way to the end of the story!! There are explicit sex scenes that are actually sexy and hot! I also thought the narrator did an excellent job moving from male to female characters flawlessly!

Which character – as performed by Hollie Jackson – was your favorite?

Hilary was my favorite character because she does not know her own power as the story begins. However, by the end of the story we see a very different person.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

This was such a fascinating story I had a very hard time getting out of my car and going into work.

Any additional comments?

I am not usually drawn to erotica. However, the story was very mesmerizing and the characters so human, it drew me in from the first page. Hollie Jackson has a beautiful voice, which gave life to the story! Mark Henry has done such an extraordinary job creating a world and characters who are so believable you want them as your friends.
