Historia
Does nature really make us feel better? The 3-Day Effect takes a look at the science behind why being in the wild can make us happier, healthier, and more creative. Whether it’s rafting down Utah’s Green River, hiking in Utah’s wilderness, or walking through Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC, scientists are finding that the more exposure humans have to nature, the more we can benefit from reduced anxiety, enhanced creativity, and overall well-being.

Good inspiration
Revisado: 07-26-19
I found this book to be a good inspiration and really underlined why I feel so different after long runs in a nature setting as opposed to city running. Could have used a little more science but still a recommendable listen

Historia
Make sure the kids aren’t around! Just because you’re a grown-up doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the art of the children’s bedtime story. Nick Offerman presents this collection of 12 short stories written in the style of a classic kids' tale, but with a decidedly dark and adult approach. What really happened after Snow White died, from the perspective of the one medically trained dwarf? A naive wizard professor reports back from the trenches of an underprivileged school of magic. And much more!

Historia
As with any large infrastructure project, the costs and risks involved in a major innovation programme are significant, and how it is led and managed will directly determine its long-term success and sustainability. The secrets of successful digital transformation are usually tightly held by the organisations that achieved them; this new title unlocks the 'how' of transformation through digital innovation.

Good book, annoying production
Revisado: 08-27-18
I really enjoyed the content of this book but for whatever reason, producers have decided that each contributor be named for every statement, including their recent work history. I can see why this would be done in the beginning of a book to show authenticity, but doing it every time becomes really annoying and made me lose focus on the content a couple of times

A powerful business fable that shows you how to spread Lean business practices to every function of your business. Pascal Dennis is a Lean-business learner and practitioner who has written four books on the subject of Lean business practices. In The Remedy, he shows how Lean business practices can be expanded from manufacturing to all the other areas of your business - including design, engineering, sales, and marketing and all processes in between - and how doing so builds a more efficient organization at every level.

Good performance, not a great story
Revisado: 03-04-13
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I would recommend this to people who find the typical Lean books diificult to understand, as the story perspective provides an interesting way of communicating the message, which could lead to better understanding.
However, as a Lean professional, I am not impressed with the quality of the story and too much of it seems to be copying of exisiting Lean material out there. I would not recommend it to my fellow Lean professionals
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
I felt like all of a sudden the writer needed an ending. It did not provide a good closure to the story in my opinion
What does Kent Cassella bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
A good voice can bring life to a not so great story which is very much the case for this book
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
It would depend on the focus. If focused on the remedy, then yes. If focused on the love story, then no
Any additional comments?
I like the idea but the story could have been done better

Historia
The missing link to long-term Lean success! Despite the fact that companies worldwide have adopted Lean production, none has sustained the same levels of excellence as Toyota. Why? Leadership. In The Toyota Way to Lean Leadership, Jeffrey Liker and Gary L. Convis, a former executive V.P. and managing officer of Toyota, help executives and senior managers get employees to refocus their efforts - from simply performing their singular function to continuously improving in collaboration across the organization.

Great listen (if you understand Lean terms)
Revisado: 02-04-13
What did you love best about The Toyota Way to Lean Leadership?
Well-narrated story about the development of Lean Leadership at TOYOTA. I especially enjoyed the continuous focus on believing that their strategy of building competences will prevail instead of adopting the usual major layoff/hiring process.
Which character – as performed by Jim Meskimen – was your favorite?
Every person who has been through the "Ohno Circle" process and not let their ego get the best of them
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Really, a movie about Lean Leadership at TOYOTA? With Brad Pitt as Gary Convis?
Any additional comments?
The one reason why i didn't give this book a 5-star rating is because of the many abbreviations and unique terms used throughout the book. I work with Lean on a daily basis and thus understand most, if not all of them, but i can definitely see some people not getting optimal value out of this book simply due to the many complicated abbreviations and terms you have to remember.
