Historia
In this intimate, haunting, literary memoir read by the author, an American icon tells her story for the first time, in her own gorgeous words - about a challenging and lonely childhood, the craft that helped her find her voice, and a powerful emotional legacy that shaped her journey as a daughter and a mother.

Love her!
Revisado: 07-19-19
I have always loved Sally Field and identified with her. Hearing her speak of her childhood and life off screen gave me a newfound respect for her. Love when a biography is read by the author. I feel I identify with her even more now.

Historia
Luke knows his I´nupiaq name is full of sounds white people can’t say. He knows he’ll have to leave it behind when he and his brothers are sent to boarding school hundreds of miles from their Arctic village. At Sacred Heart School things are different. Instead of family, there are students - Eskimo, Indian, White - who line up on different sides of the cafeteria like there’s some kind of war going on. And instead of comforting words like tutu and maktak, there’s English. Speaking I´nupiaq - or any native language - is forbidden.

Indigenous Alaskan Experiance
Revisado: 07-19-19
A peek into indigenous residential schools of the past in far North America. Eye opening and heartbreaking, it is a look at the life of indigenous children who were sent away from family to be schooled. I learned so much and also enjoyed the descriptions of life in the not to distant past of Alaska.

Historia
A condition as old as the ancients, despondency thrives in today's culture of leisure, anxiety, and digital distraction. Time and Despondency is a penetrating synthesis of ancient theology, spiritual memoir, and self-help practicality. It envisions despondency as the extension of a broken relationship with the experience of time.

Just what I needed
Revisado: 07-19-19
For someone who has battled dysthymia my whole life, but also a Christian, this speaks to me. It is rare that depression is adequately addressed in the church and even rarer for mental health to address the spiritual side. This is a balanced approach from both.
