Historia
In his decades as a globally recognized teacher, Richard Rohr has helped millions realize what is at stake in matters of faith and spirituality. Yet Rohr has never written on the most perennially talked about topic in Christianity: Jesus. Most know who Jesus was, but who was Christ? Drawing on scripture, history, and spiritual practice, Rohr articulates a transformative view of Jesus Christ as a portrait of God’s constant, unfolding work in the world.

Love Richard Rohr
Revisado: 09-29-24
I just discovered this author. This is my second listen of his and he did not disappoint. His ability to demonstrate the universality of Jesus Christ is remarkable. A great mix of stories and his WISDOM regarding the humanity and dirty of Jesus. Money's presentation is clear, easy to follow, and worth the listen. I have a couple pending "lis tens", but soon I'll be looking for another Rohr read.

Historia
There is no question that the United States faces dangerous threats from without; the greatest peril to the country, however, comes from within. In The Bill of Obligations, bestselling author Richard Haass argues that, to solve our climate of division and safeguard our democracy, the very idea of citizenship must be revised and expanded. The Bill of Rights is at the center of our Constitution, yet the most intractable conflicts often emerge from cases that, as former Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer pointed out, “are not about right versus wrong. They are about right versus right.”

A GREAT read ( OK, lusten)
Revisado: 02-07-23
Richard Haass is that rare individual who can step back from a contentious political fight and make sense of it with civility. The concept of this book ( that society isn't all about our rights) is another refreshing reminder that we owe something ( i.e. have responsibilities to one another) to make the system work. It is a shame that too many of our political leaders do not read and take this book to heart, before we face another crisis "that brings us together as people first".

Historia
In Love Your Enemies, New York Times best-selling author and social scientist Arthur C. Brooks shows that treating others with contempt and out-outraging the other side is not a formula for lasting success. Blending cutting-edge behavioral research, ancient wisdom, and a decade of experience leading one of America’s top policy think tanks, Love Your Enemies offers a new way to lead based not on attacking others but on bridging national divides and mending personal relationships.

A must for "sane thinkers"
Revisado: 04-11-22
Brooks says we shouldn't listen only to people who always share our views. While I agree, it's rare that I come across someone who shares my outlook on how to solve the world's difficulties. I loved this book. It's cleverly funny, challenging, an easy listen, and most of all GREAT ADVICE for living in today's and the future world.

An inspiring, informative, and practical guide to navigating end-of-life issues, by a groundbreaking expert in the field and the New York Times best-selling author of Knocking on Heaven’s Door. Katy Butler argues that we have lost touch with the “art of dying” as practiced by our ancestors, yet we still hunger for rites of passage and a sense of the sacred, especially in the important life transitions of aging and dying.

Read this now before it's too late
Revisado: 09-20-21
Sounds like wise advice to me. From someone who lives and works at the margins of human health care, the advice to learn your (and got loved ones') options at the end are well-stated. "Don't be bullied or shamed by physicians" . This multi-cultural approach leaves room for all religious traditions to be honored at the approach and time of passing. The story is liberally interspersed with anecdotal recounts of good and less than good examples of how to prepare and encounter end of life issues ( both yours and that of loved ones). Read this book now. . . .

Historia
High conflict is what happens when discord distills into a good-versus-evil kind of feud, the kind with an us and a them. In this state, the brain behaves differently. We feel increasingly certain of our own superiority, and everything we do to try to end the conflict, usually makes it worse. Eventually, we can start to mimic the behavior of our adversaries, harming what we hold most dear. In this book, New York Times bestselling author and award-winning journalist Amanda Ripley investigates how good people get captured by high conflict—and how they break free.

Historia
Kevin Myers, the founding pastor of 12Stone Church, a congregation of more than 30,000 active attenders near Atlanta, believes the reason we don't experience a transformed life is that we fail to grow up spiritually. We focus on developing physically, intellectually, emotionally, and financially, yet our faith remains immature and anemic. In this powerful new book, Myers offers a deep yet simple roadmap to a grown-up faith through understanding the whole context of the Bible, developing spiritual intimacy with God, and gratefully embracing holy obedience.

Too good not to be shared
Revisado: 05-13-21
Everyone (Believer or Seeker) should read/listen to this book. It's engaging, simple enough to understand, yet challenging for all to follow the ways of God. Myers and Wetzel make point after point to clearly illustrate ut the Good News and encourage us to NOT overlook what God has done and is doing on our behalf. A great deal life personal stories are found in each chapter. This book is hard to put down.

Revisado: 01-10-20
For the faithful, Ryan starts off and often returns to Zen. But as he moves on, he gives great examples and guidance from MANY "persuasions" (not to worry. He'll get to your tradition). Bottom line: Prime the pump, recharge your batteries, sleep is a good thing. As in "Gone with the Wind" : tomorrow's another day... ENJOY !

But we do need to be aware and willing to empower and send those who are truly called to international evangelism.
