Historia
At 22, Cheryl Strayed thought she had lost everything. In the wake of her mother's death, her family scattered and her own marriage was soon destroyed. Four years later, with nothing more to lose, she made the most impulsive decision of her life: to hike the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon to Washington State - and to do it alone. She had no experience as a long-distance hiker, and the trail was little more than “an idea, vague and outlandish and full of promise.” But it was a promise of piecing back together a life that had come undone.

Historia
From the New York Times best-selling author of An Altar in the World, Barbara Brown Taylor’s Learning to Walk in the Dark provides a way to find spirituality in those times when we don’t have all the answers. Taylor has become increasingly uncomfortable with our tendency to associate all that is good with lightness and all that is evil and dangerous with darkness. Taylor asks us to put aside our fears and anxieties and to explore all that God has to teach us “in the dark.”

Revisado: 11-19-14
Would you consider the audio edition of Learning to Walk in the Dark to be better than the print version?
N/A
What was one of the most memorable moments of Learning to Walk in the Dark?
How the author compared many forms of darkness throughout the book: physical, spiritual, emotional.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes
Any additional comments?
I have always had a fear of the dark and after listening to this book I am much more open to darkness because it has it's place. Made me look at where that fear came from.

Historia
In his 50s, Michael Gates Gill had it all: a big house in the suburbs, a loving family, and a top job at an ad agency with a six-figure salary. By the time he turned 60, he had lost everything except his Ivy League education and his sense of entitlement. First, he was downsized at work. Next, an affair ended his 20-year marriage. Then, he was diagnosed with a slow-growing brain tumor, prognosis undetermined. Around the same time, his girlfriend gave birth to a son.

Great inspiring story
Revisado: 04-01-13
Would you listen to How Starbucks Saved My Life again? Why?
Yes because it was inspiring how someone who had "everything" found more happiness on having less with much more satisfaction.
What about Dylan Baker’s performance did you like?
It was easy to listen to. So many audio books get people to read them and they are HORRIBLE!! This was not the case with this book.
Any additional comments?
Really enjoyed listening to it and learned a lot about Starbucks too!

Historia
In the summer of 1974, a 14-year-old girl in Dolton, Illinois, had a dream - a dream to become an actress. But it was a long way from the South Side of Chicago to Hollywood, and it didn’t help that she’d recently dropped out of the school play, The Ugly Duckling, or that the Hollywood casting directors she wrote to replied that "professional training was a requirement". But the funny thing is, it all came true....
