I’ve read the whole series but there’s something special about this one. I love that the FL is in her 30’s & is so resilient. The ML is the mix of fierce, passionate, & kind. It’s a mafia romance that doesn’t insult your intelligence. The narrators are fantastic!

Emma & Christian are so good! I could listen to Christian all day. In fact it might help me grade exams if he read them. Anyway! This was another one where the blurb seemed sexy interesting and bam! It takes a turn. But what I’ve learned with this author is to trust her - the ending will work out. But gracious it’s a heck of a road to get there. This one was interesting with my background in behavior, the conditioning.

Darkly sweet or sweetly dark

Faith was perfect! But I had a hard time buying that Alan was a 26-year old. All his other male characters were great! It’s a sweet story. I enjoy this whole series.

Fun for a mafia book

Monica King was perfect! I did not feel the same about Liam DiCosimo. His voice just didn’t fit the character & when he did the other characters (especially the women), it came across as contemptuous & mocking. But this wasn’t enough to greatly detract from the story. It had just enough layers & complexity to be enjoyable & not stressful.

Troubling, in a good way?

Emma & Jacob do a great job narrating! This story is true to the author’s style: layers & layers of conspiracy that are revealed painfully slow. I say that with love. This one wasn’t as light as the Harem station stories & not as dark as Sick Heart. There was plenty to feel uncomfortable about & plenty to laugh at. I do wish the ending resolved a bit more in HEA territory; the epilogue felt a bit hollow. This still gets full marks from me though. And I really really want to hug Axe.

Oh the folly of youth

This was so much fun! I enjoyed it from the perspective of being (much) older than these college kids. Oh my gosh, the stuff I would’ve said! Mona is the best! And I’m still laughing at Axe’s arrow two-seater shirt. Granted, there were dark nuanced layers & several students need a lot of therapy. I will be happily listening to the next one.

Heavy, not for the faint of heart, but so good

I had just finished up one of the author’s more light hearted series when I began this book. Whoa…. A dark dark ride. It tore at my empathetic core. I stuck with it, trusting the author. Please trust her. It is so good. Heartbreaking over & over but so good. My only critique is that while I enjoyed the male narrator immensely, in no way did he sound like a 27 year old.

Complex & so enjoyable

I’ve enjoyed the whole series. Like the author, I am a scientist & usually don’t care for scifi. But this was good! My only issue is that there is a lot going on in this book! Which included a lot of introspection. It got a little stressful but the end was so worth it! I wish there were more stories based on the epilogue.

Very funny & sexy

Sci-fi’s not really my thing or so I thought. I like the author so I’m listening. I enjoy the premise of the whole series. But with this one, Tad Branson doing the voices of the amusement park employees & the fact that no one can pronounce Jimmy, I was laughing so hard!
