Not as good as the video
Revisado: 05-31-22
While I thoroughly enjoyed the documentary video and got so much out of it, this audiobook was a flop for me. I could not keep myself engaged and was thus easily distracted by anything that came into my mind. Regrettably I have to give it a “no” from me in all areas.

This series is a real feel-good for me
Revisado: 05-06-18
I've now listened (and enjoyed) the first 3 volumes of Tara Tremendous, The Secret Diaries. It's really such a cute and fun series. I love learning of the new characters and hearing how they play into the whole story line. I'm eager to find out exactly how Tara is able to overcome the evil ways of Dr. Epic. I'm very much looking forward to more!

And the fun and intrigue continue...
Revisado: 05-06-18
In this volume, it was fun to learn more about the main characters who are a part of Tara's new life. I really enjoyed the banter between Dr. Epic and 1102. And, Tara is so well cast. I can't imagine anyone else as Tara. Her voice is exactly as I would imagine it to be if I were reading a hardcopy of the book.

A wonderful intro. Eager for the next volume!
Revisado: 05-06-18
What I love about this first volume of the Tara Tremendous series is that it pulls me in and makes me want more. I'm very much affected by voices and how they fit into the story. The voices for this story are perfect for the roles and the accompanying music very much adds to the intrigue of the story. I'm eager to hear more!

Historia
The relentless pursuit of high self-esteem has become a virtual religion - and a tyrannical one at that. Our ultracompetitive culture tells us we need to be constantly above average to feel good about ourselves, but there is always someone more attractive, successful, or intelligent than we are. And even when we do manage to grab hold of high self-esteem for a brief moment, we can't seem to keep it. Our sense of self-worth goes up and down like a ping-pong ball, rising and falling in lockstep with our latest success or failure.

Can’t get past the voice
Revisado: 01-05-18
I’m sure there are some great nuggets of info in this book, but I am very much swayed one way or another by voices and am unable to get past the voice of the reader to really listen to the book. Her voice just wasn’t engaging for me. Sorry!

Historia
Each day we face a barrage of images and messages from society and the media telling us who, what, and how we should be. We are led to believe that if we could only look perfect and lead perfect lives, we'd no longer feel inadequate. So most of us perform, please, and perfect, all the while thinking, What if I can't keep all of these balls in the air? Why isn't everyone else working harder and living up to my expectations? What will people think if I fail or give up? When can I stop proving myself?

Awesome book - incredible narrator
Revisado: 09-23-13
Where does Safe Haven rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Safe Haven currently ranks at the top of the audiobooks I've listened to.
What did you like best about this story?
Admittedly, I'm a huge Nicholas Sparks fan. But, I take each book on its own merit. Safe Haven is my third time listening to one of his books and I must say this was the best. I found the story itself very riveting. Never did I get bored with listening to it. And, the end of it had me staying up late just to find out what would happen.
Which character – as performed by Rebecca Lowman – was your favorite?
My favorite character, as performed by Rebecca Lowman, was Jo. I could actually truly picture her through the voice that Rebecca used. Bravo, Rebecca!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I would say from the middle to the end is what I found most riveting. I didn't want to pause it to do anything else.
Any additional comments?
I will probably focus my book searches on more Nicholas Sparks books and more books narrated by Rebecca Lowman. And, I certainly hope the two will come together again in the future.
