Historia
Will Lee has returned to his roots to kick off his campaign for the Senate. A prominent lawyer, he has come back to his hometown of Delano, Georgia, to plan his strategies...and to argue an explosively controversial case that could seriously damage his political career. For Delano is a town with a dark secret - a smoldering hotbed of racial hatred and moral outrage, held in the thrall of a sinister white-supremacist group called The Elect... a breeding ground for violent, evil forces that will stop at nothing to keep the candidate out of office.

Enjoyed
Revisado: 01-16-22
I started with Chiefs which was hands down the best so far. I skipped the second book because of reviews and settled on this one. Story was easy to follow and came together. I enjoyed it. Woods is a good storyteller—keeping it simple and easy to follow. Definitely recommend.

Historia
In 1919, Delano, Georgia, appoints its first chief of police. Honest and hardworking, the new chief is puzzled when young men start to disappear. But his investigation is ended by the fatal blast from a shotgun. Delano's second chief-of-police is no hero, yet he is also disturbed by what he sees in the missing-persons bulletins. In 1969, when Delano's third chief takes over, the unsolved disappearances still haunt the police files.

Best story I have heard in a long time
Revisado: 01-12-22
This book came across as a “recommendation” from audible. I’d seen Stuart Woods before but never read any of his books. Wow! What a great book. In the beginning I was concerned because there were different characters and I felt a bit lost but once the book got going it was easy to follow. Great story. This is the first book that I have listened to that reminded me of how much I used to love reading. Listening is a very different experience. But this story made me not want to stop listening, it was like a book I couldn’t put down and I regretted to see it end. I highly recommend it!! I will be purchasing more from Stuart Woods

Historia
It's August 1984, and paperboy Christopher Stewart has gone missing. Hours later, 12-year-old Sammy Cox hurries home from his own paper route, red-faced and out of breath, hiding a terrible secret. Crystal, Sammy's 17-year-old sister, is worried by the disappearance but she also sees an opportunity: the Stewart case has echoes of an earlier unsolved disappearance of another boy, one town over. Crystal senses the makings of an award-winning essay, one that could win her a scholarship - and a ticket out of their small Iowa town.

Good Book

Narrator was good, fit the characters. Plot was interesting and kept your interest. I find audible books hard to follow, between the right plot with the right narrator. This book held my interest.

Interesting and compelling to listen to

Story has different cases that inner twine. So even if you know one of the cases it’s still surprising to hear the rest. Definitely worth listening to

Historia
Vanessa Mazur knows she's doing the right thing. She shouldn't feel bad for quitting. Being an assistant/housekeeper/fairy godmother to the top defensive end in the National Football Organization was always supposed to be temporary. She has plans, and none of them include washing extra-large underwear longer than necessary. But when Aiden Graves shows up at her door wanting her to come back, she's beyond shocked.

Worth the read (listen)

Refreshing story that wasn’t overly sexual. Romantic with build up story. Loved the narrator, her voice matched the characters perfectly—something that I find hard to find. Typically I give up on a book because the narrator but this one I really enjoyed. Good summer read.

Best part…multiple narrators!

One of the main problems I have with audible books is the one voice that tends to loose me after a while. For this reason I typically listen to podcasts. This book was like listening to a movie. I found it easy to follow and interesting.
Plot was good. Cop story and intended to be short—I think the story was less than 4 hours. It was just perfect. Included in my audible subscription—highly recommend
