Historia
Voted Most Likely to Succeed, Melanie Bartlett ended up anything but. The down-on-her-luck single mom wants a complete do-over - is that too much to ask? With her family long gone from River Bend, strong, independent Mel is as surprised as anyone to end up in the quaint small town she once called home. But with her friends, Jo and Zoe, by her side, and a comfortable room at Miss Gina's quirky bed-and-breakfast, she just might have turned the corner on a new life.

Hardship and Pain endure until Love comes softly.
Revisado: 09-10-21
After spending two years of educating myself in politics, I needed a break. I am not much of a novel reading person, the last great novels I read were from Eugenia Price decades ago. This novel did not disappoint, it is inspiring and a sweet love story.

Thought Provoking
Revisado: 10-22-20
As a mother to three grown adults. I found myself torn between the horrific and sad story of Mathew. Not putting blame on the author or her husband however, it was a struggle to reconcile the fact that they were too absent in his life for my liking. After listening to the book twice in hopes to be able to listen without my judgement of the parents absenteeism in his life did not subside the second time around. I highly recommend this book to all.

A must listen!!
Revisado: 08-26-20
I have always suspected that President Trump is a good person. Listening to this book confirmed my suspicion. I listened to it in a span of two days, thats how wonderful it was to be invited to get to know the real person that I am proud to be a supporter of. Ms. Westerhout's honesty is refreshing to say the least. I am glad that she is still in contact with the President. When she described her conversation with the President after the dinner it brought tears to my eyes, it was as if I was in the presence of witnessing two people who care about each other were both equally heartbroken. Have your kleenex at the ready.

Historia
Americans have built an empire on the idea of “race”, a falsehood that damages us all but falls most heavily on the bodies of Black women and men - bodies exploited through slavery and segregation and, today, threatened, locked up, and murdered out of all proportion. What is it like to inhabit a Black body and find a way to live within it? And how can we all honestly reckon with this fraught history and free ourselves from its burden? Between the World and Me is Ta-Nehisi Coates’ attempt to answer these questions in a letter to his adolescent son.

Divisive
Revisado: 08-07-20
I purchased this book because it was a required reading in one of my college classes. The author's hint of his racism is a common thread throughout the book. I began reading the hard copy but it was so tainted with negative undertones I had to purchase the audio just to get through it for my assignment.

Revisado: 08-07-20
It took a lot of effort to complete the book. It was nothing more than the author's attempt to portray herself as a victim. Save your money SKIP this one.

Isabel Allende is one of my favorite authors however I must admit this is by far my favorite. I don't believe I will never forgot Alma, Ichi, Nathaniel, Irena or Seth for a long, long time to come!
