Lovely narration

Wonderful narration. Lovely, smooth and easy to listen to narration by Karen Cass. I always appreciate the sound quality of her recordings. This story’s plot isn’t as strong as the others in the series. Throughout the story, parts of the plot were rushed through. The romance still shines through,

Threats of violence is not my cup of tea

5 stars for the narrator. Karen Cass is great as always. However the story is not to my liking. This is a new author for me. I’m not impressed. The male lead threatens the heroine with violence repeatedly. He’s supposed to be a grumpy anti-hero. He’s no hero. He’s abusive. I know some people like that. I don’t. Audible refused to refund my money. I’m disappointed. This story needed a warning.

Loved Karen Cass’ Narration

Enjoyable romance between an independent minded lady and a newly minted lord in need of family and friends. Plenty of 1:1 scenes of the lovebirds falling for each other. Other parts of the plot weren’t as fully fleshed out. The ending was a tad rushed in an effort to wrap up the plot. The story was entertaining from start to finish. I enjoyed it.

5 Stars for this fun and faced paced historical romance. Loved it. One small complaint is that the newspaper storyline could have been wrapped up better.

Fun and naughty sci fi romance adventure

Great story with plenty of action and angst. Good pacing kept me interested. Just enough world building to keep each chapter fresh. The only negative was the accent for the best friend. The accent was from the wrong country, and painfully distracting. Otherwise an enjoyable listen.

Wow. Fun, lively, touching.

Such a wonderful surprise. A lively, raucous yet touching and heartfelt short romance. The music is at times modern, but fits the mood of the story well. I usually dislike sound effects, but these are done well. The story makes you consider the kindness (or lack of) that you treat others with. But it’s not preachy. It hit particularly hard for me because I come from a culture where people suffer the effects of shaming. So good. Now I want to listen to other stories about misunderstood literary characters.

So different and wonderful

5 stars. The description of this story doesn’t do it justice. Romantic fairytale adventure that’s different from any I’ve read before. A grumpy duke and a penniless dreamer’s romance. Such a delight.

Monotone Narrator. DNF

The story actually seemed cute. Unfortunately the narrator speaks in a monotone and it ruins the story. I tried to keep listening but the narration was unbearable.

Annoying background sounds

It’s a shame about the annoying background noises because the story is kinda cute. I hope audible gives a warning about these radio play type narrations. The audio is like listening to nails on a chalkboard. DNF.
