Historia
Rock art is one of those things that just captivates your attention. The ancient carvings, drawings, and paintings tell a story. Sometimes we can interpret what that story is and sometimes we can't. World renowned rock art expert, Dr. Alan Garfinkel joins APN founder Chris Webster and a cast of expert guests to talk about rock art: what is it, how do we know how old it is, who made it, and much more. Join us as we take you on a journey through space and time via pictures on rock.

To much Christianity in the interpretation of the subject.
Revisado: 06-20-24
The interpretation of the rock art should not contain that much details of Christianity. It takes away the magnificent similarities of human society and how it works over time and space.

But she must believe that most people live in America, that most of the food is grown close by. We should eat more supper food, but we also need to eat more locally grown food. For me that is reindeer and potatoes.

Revisado: 01-08-24
I am disappointed in this class, there is nothing about any of the many empires outside of the ancient empires of Middle East, Egypt and east Europe. Asia and the rest of Africa are forgotten. America is completely neglected.

Historia
Jin Rou wanted to be a cultivator. A man powerful enough to defy the heavens. A master of martial arts. A lord of spiritual power. Unfortunately for him, he died, and now I’m stuck in his body. Arrogant Masters? Heavenly Tribulations? All that violence and bloodshed? Yeah, no thanks. I’m getting out of here. Farm life sounds pretty great. Tilling a field by hand is fun when you’ve got the strength of ten men—though maybe I shouldn’t have fed those Spirit Herbs to my pet rooster.

Other than that, I loved this book. It hits all the tropes, all the cliches, but it is so absurd it is fun.

Historia
Feed is an electrifying and critically acclaimed novel of a world a half-step from our own that the New York Times calls “Astonishing” a novel of zombies, geeks, politics, social media, and the virus that runs through them all - from New York Times best seller Mira Grant. The year was 2014. We had cured cancer. We had beat the common cold. But in doing so we created something new, something terrible that no one could stop. The infection spread, virus blocks taking over bodies and minds with one, unstoppable command: Feed.

I am not sure if this book is something I would recommend to anyone. As a Norwegian demisexual that considers myself Nonbinary. I have been told in this book that I only do this because that is what society wants me to do. I think a conversation with the author would help me understand what she wants me say and not just sell.

Historia
100,000 years ago the object hit the lake at the deepest point, quickly sinking into its mile-deep Stygian darkness. The sheets of ice closed, time moved on and the land forgot. But over the centuries, legends grew of people vanishing, of strange, deformed animals and of an unexplained luminescence down in the lake depths. When Marcus Stenson won the lucrative contract to create a sturgeon fish farm on the site of disused paper mill on the shore of Lake Baikal, he thought he had won the lottery and refused to listen to the chilling folktales....

This book is ridiculously filled with incorrect information and all you have to do is google Sturgeon and the framework of the story is in tatters. I love monsters stories but this was just too badly researched to make sense.

Historia
America's blueprint for mass education has been followed across the globe - yet international student assessments show that achievement varies sharply, with the US and much of Europe typically scoring average at best. Not surprisingly, this state of affairs has sparked anxieties about an educational crisis. The problem, if there is one, is highly complex, and in these 24 thought-provoking lectures led by an associate professor of comparative and international education, you'll take a meaningful look at education around the world to understand why.
