Historia
Ever since the first Rift opened in Area 51 in 1947, exposing the world to deadly beings of pure energy, only the Nightstalkers have stood between humanity and complete annihilation. But as the decades have gone by, whatever power controls the Rifts seems to be getting smarter, as if refining an ultimate plan… An old ally alerts the Nightstalkers to a resurgence of Rifts in Tennessee, near one of the team’s first major skirmishes with the seemingly inexhaustible threat.

Historia
From the Audie-nominated narrator of The Martian. In eleven years' time, a million members of an alien race will arrive at Earth. Years before they enter orbit, their approach will be announced by the flare of a thousand flames in the sky, their ships' huge engines burning hard to slow them from the vast speeds needed to cross interstellar space. These foreboding lights will shine in our night sky like new stars, getting ever brighter until they outshine even the sun, casting ominous shadows and banishing the night until they suddenly blink out.

aliens? invasion? ai? evil bitches? oh yeah!
Revisado: 07-03-15
this is a fun listen and perfect to start your summer. it reminds me of the "Area 51" series minus the machismo military hero.
this story completely lacks romance if any kind which would have added to it, but I found it interesting and fast paced. already have ordered book #2.

Historia
The UFO enigma has been part of our culture since the 1940s and is building to a worldwide explosion of acceptance today. Now, as governments around the world open their files and records on internal UFO investigations, the US remains steadfast in its denial of interest in the UFO issue. As more of the world's population accepts the possibility of an extraterrestrial presence, the demand is building for disclosure from the United States.

in addition to sounding like it was written by an old man (it was), it was also only moderately interesting for the first few parts and then i lost interest. and i love alien stuff!

Historia
Two weeks after the end of The Beam's first groundbreaking season, one thing is abundantly clear: the more the world changes, the harder those in power work behind the curtain to keep it all the same. With Shift, the NAU's national election, now just days away, the country's political parties fight even harder to win the citizen's minds—minds that are almost all permanently connected to The Beam, addicted to connectivity more deeply than any drug. Only those with the courage to think for themselves can work to change what seems like a certain future.

wow, not good at all
Revisado: 06-06-15
The writing style is fine, the characters are fine, but you just don't give a shit what happens to anyone. To make matters worse, very little actually happens in the book.
Much like the first season, this one ends flat. I will not be listening to season three.

Historia
Not too long from today, a new, highly contagious virus makes its way across the globe. Most who get sick experience nothing worse than flu, fever, and headaches. But for the unlucky one percent - and nearly five million souls in the United States alone - the disease causes "Lock In": Victims fully awake and aware, but unable to move or respond to stimulus. The disease affects young, old, rich, poor, people of every color and creed. The world changes to meet the challenge.

Historia
The prequel to the New York Times best-selling Maze Runner series. Before WICKED was formed, before the Glade was built, before Thomas entered the Maze, sun flares hit the Earth, and mankind fell to disease. Mark and Trina were there when it happened, and they survived. But surviving the sun flares was easy compared to what came next. Now a disease of rage and lunacy races across the eastern United States, and there's something suspicious about its origin. Worse yet, it's mutating, and all evidence suggests that it will bring humanity to its knees.

entertaining but disappointing in its simplicity
Revisado: 04-09-15
I started off liking it, but then after chapter after chapter of the same characters, no real story, no backstory, no real plot, and constant action, I got worn out. like any good prequel, I was looking for some good backstory and explanation of things that happened before. and then after all of that, the epilogue is downright insulting

Historia
There have been many books - on a large and small scale - about Steve Jobs, one of the most famous CEOs in history. But this book is different from all the others. Becoming Steve Jobs takes on and breaks down the existing myth and stereotypes about Steve Jobs. The conventional, one-dimensional view of Jobs is that he was half genius, half jerk from youth, an irascible and selfish leader who slighted friends and family alike.

don't bother if you listened to the official bio
Revisado: 03-28-15
it's a good listen and better than the official biography, but not worth listening to both. there wasn't much new. it made Steve seem more human and greater depth which was nice, but still too close to the original.
I was also hoping to hear more of the personal growth side of Steve, but there wasn't enough of that. there were even mundane parts about the creation of the iPod and other apple products that seemed boring. I found myself eager to finish so I could listen to something else.

John Dean's last New York Times best seller, Worse Than Watergate: The Secret Presidency of George W. Bush, offered the former White House insider's unique and telling perspective on George W. Bush's presidency. Once again, Dean employs his distinctive knowledge and understanding of Washington politics and process to examine the conservative movement's current inner circle of radical Republican leaders, from Capitol Hill to Pennsylvania Avenue to K Street and beyond.

Historia
Neil deGrasse Tyson has a talent for guiding readers through the mysteries of outer space with stunning clarity and almost childlike enthusiasm. This collection of his essays from Natural History magazine explores a myriad of cosmic topics. Tyson introduces us to the physics of black holes by explaining what would happen to our bodies if we fell into one; he also examines the needless friction between science and religion, and notes Earth's status as "an insignificantly small speck in the cosmos".

great techie thriller, but where the hell is ...
Revisado: 02-16-15
... I won't spoil it for you, but there was a part that is missing from this book that really I expected to be there. Technically this isn't in the same series as the authors previous books, but it is an obvious continuation of book two. so I was only disappointed with one I'll be at minor detail but I thought shouldn't have been overlooked.
in my opinion, this book was better than the first two and is up there along with other fun and entertaining technothrillers
