ICE la? My niece is named Isla it’s not pronounced ICE la

I’m cringing so much every time the narrator says ICE la that I don’t think I can get through this EVEN if that’s how the author intends it to be pronounced which I have no way of knowing one way or another but if the author does want Isla pronounced ICE la then why not spell it differently than Isla?? Eye La is the correct way. Maybe they pronounce it ICE la somewhere in the world but I’m from the US and we do not say it that way and this is the US version of the audiobook.

Really bummed that they went with this narrator. Take my advice and read it rather than listen to it. Narrator’s voice is horribly nasal sounding and doesn’t match the main character. Has no talent for doing different voices for different characters. The way they do the dragons voices is super cringe. Supposed to be a young woman but sounds like a 12 year old boy with a head cold.

As usual the narrator crushes it. Absolutely perfect narration. Thoroughly enjoyed number 11. Probably one of the best of the series. At least for me. The cliffhanger is killing me! I cannot wait to see how it all unfolds. Lots going on in this one but it wasn’t overwhelming at all. Some crazy things happening in number 11 wow! So much action and some heartfelt moments as well. I was sad when it ended.

Such A Fun Series

I love this series. I got all 12 books and will now be starting 10-12. I’m glad I did because I’m definitely looking forward to see what happens with Holly and the gang. I love the narrator of this series. She is phenomenal. The characters are fun and all interesting in their own way. You will definitely get cozy vibes from these books.

I couldn’t even get to chapter three. The narrator is not suited for this story. Maybe not suited for narrating period. I have probably listened to a thousand audiobooks and I know good narration. This is not it. The story I could have actually enjoyed but I will never know because I had to stop listening.

I've read thousands of books in my lifetime of nearly 50 years. Many I don't even remember reading but a book like this will stick with you. You will never forget this one and you might even read it again and again. It's funny and heartbreaking and infuriating and touching and you will not regret a minute spent with it.

Sins of The Father

An elderly woman with dementia is tormented by a vengeful ghost. The ghost of a man her grandfather killed durin WWII. Why? Is she supposed to be guilty by association? She wasn’t even born yet. Apparently this knowledge is haunting this poor woman enough to terrify her into believing she’s actually in danger from this ghost. There’s mention of her using her inheritance money to appease this ghost or make some kind of reparations. So what’s the author getting at? It was somewhat disturbing to hear an actress perform the role of a terrified elderly woman who thinks an angry ghost her grandfather murdered is after her. I’ll give the author that much. I don’t go around quoting the Bible literally ever but I’ll leave this right here. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. I’m not really sure what the listener was supposed to have taken from this storyline. Be good or literal and or imaginary ghost might haunt your kids for your bad deed’s? I dunno maybe I need to read better books. The performers were good the audio was at some points way too loud and others hard to hear.

Somewhat lacking for me

How? How does someone allow themselves to be duped so severely for ten years?? TEN! While I have empathy for the victim I still don’t get it and feel like she knew all along deep down but she was getting something she needed from the interaction. As for the perpetrator of such a callous and elaborate scheme I think they are a genuine psychopath. But this is a review of the series……. It was very well done however I couldn’t help but feel at times that they needed to just confront the liar and get it over with. That even though this exchange went on for ten years there wasn’t much to it to make a seven part series when just focusing on the lies. If they had successfully been able to get the perpetrator to speak with them and perhaps delved further into the psychological aspect of the story it would have been much more interesting to me. After all that’s the fascinating part for normal people. The question of what in the world makes someone go to such lengths to commit this kind of deception and for so long? Furthermore what makes a person fall prey to this kind of thing and what makes them continue communicating even when they admitted that deep down they suspected the truth? For me it would have been much more interesting if they had focused more on that aspect and less on law enforcement and their failure to do their job. I would have liked to hear from more experts and not just what they think about the perpetrators actions but also their thoughts on the victims frame of mind during this whole relationship. Of course the whole thing would have been much more complete if they had been successful in obtaining an interview with the perpetrator to ask them the biggest question which is why?.
