Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Revisado: 03-10-22
this is the third book I read from Lisa Jewell and it's great. I'm glad I found a new favorite author. I read "Invisible Girl" which was magnificent and Owen was the best performed character I've ever read. And "The She Was Gone" brilliant. I recommend both.

Historia
In 12 fiercely funny, mind-expanding chapters, Dawkins explains how the natural world arose without a designer - the improbability and beauty of the "bottom-up programming" that engineers an embryo or a flock of starlings - and challenges head-on some of the most basic assumptions made by the world’s religions: Do you believe in God? Which one? Is the Bible a "Good Book"? Is adhering to a religion necessary, or even likely, to make people good to one another? Outgrowing God is a concise, provocative guide to thinking for yourself.

Revisado: 10-31-19
When hearing it, at different moments I couldn't help but think how it reminds me of one of his other books. He does a good job in bringing most of the points in his other works concisely yet superbly descriptive and detailed. If you're going to only read one of his books this is it.

An easy listen with great narrator!
Revisado: 06-29-13
It is a tiny bit interesting, not too much drama. Women making bigger deals out of things than they should. But I got through the whole thing, wanted to keep going and see where it went. A bit predictable with some moments of interest. Love Orlagh Cassidy, it's usually why I get her books. I guess I would say read it. Don't except any problems based on real issues...mainly misunderstanding and silly fears.

I got the book for the narrator. Love her voice.
Revisado: 06-29-13
The book itself is a little wishy washy! Woman can't forget her first love but one is never sure why. Goes back and forth from present adult to when she was a teenager. The teenage years are more interesting than the present. She spent most of the present going why why why why with not much happening !!! Gets tedious and boring. Predictable! But The narrator made it almost worth it, almost.

When it happens to you, you will be surprised. That thing they say about how you knew all the time, but just weren't facing it? That might be the case, but nevertheless, there you will be. Molly Ringwald mines the complexities of modern relationships in this gripping and nuanced collection of interlinked stories. Writing with a deep compassion for human imperfection, Ringwald follows a Los Angeles family and their friends and neighbors while they negotiate the hazardous terrain of everyday life - revealing the deceptions, heartbreak, and vulnerability familiar to us all.

Revisado: 06-29-13
Awesome short stories that connect! LOVED THAT! Well written, well read, interesting characters. Depth from the get go. So very very good! Worth it, don't wait. I had it on my wish list looking for better books and I listened to a bunch of bad stuff when I finally gave it a chance and totally loved it. Believable, realistic, touching, interesting! Keeps you thinking about the stories after you finished the book.

Historia
Lottie just knows that her boyfriend is going to propose during lunch at one of London’s fanciest restaurants. But when his big question involves a trip abroad, not a trip down the aisle, she’s completely crushed. So when Ben, an old flame, calls her out of the blue and reminds Lottie of their pact to get married if they were both still single at 30, she jumps at the chance. No formal dates - just a quick march to the altar and a honeymoon on Ikonos, the sun-drenched Greek island where they first met years ago. Their family and friends are horrified. Fliss, Lottie’s older sister, knows that Lottie can be impulsive - but surely this is her worst decision yet.

Ludicrous, could not conceive such an absurdity.
Revisado: 06-29-13
First, I 'd like to say that the narrators do a good job, I just can't stand the voice of Jayne Entwistle. It's irritating. But it is well read.
About the book, HOLY HORRIBLE!!! I have read five other Sophie Kinsella books and liked them all, but this one is absurd. The story line is ridiculous. Woman, Lottie, thinks boyfriend is going to propose and when he doesn't she meets up with old flame and decides to get married to him instead. Sister, Fliss, is going through a bitter divorce and has a 7 year old boy or is it 9, I don't know but who cares because it's not really about him at all. This part is about a third of the book, the only part that I could listen to. The rest of the book, which is most of the book, is how the sister, Fliss, tries to keep Lottie and the new flame from having sex on their wedding night because she thinks she's made a terrible mistake.
Let's start with the fact that a woman going through a terrible divorce with a child and having a fling herself, would never find herself totally obsessed (meaning this is the only thing she does) with keeping her sister from having sex on her wedding night... this is ALL SHE DOES.
Then Lottie, a 33 year old woman (previously living with her boyfriend), wants to have a shotgun wedding but needs to WAIT to have sex until her wedding night!!!! Riiiiight! ok fine...Let us overlook that. And I should not have because the circumstances become ridiculous. It's one thing to want to make it perfect on your wedding night but any consenting adult would never find him or herself in this situation ...ridiculous. The last 7 chapters were all about how the butler kept coming in the room and interrupting them from having sex, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again...all orquestrated by the sister, who takes the kid out of school to follow crazy Lottie to Ikonos to stop her from having sex. Totally absurd!!!
So the last seven chapters I used the "skip to next chapter button" and listened for a few seconds and it was the same thing...butler interrupts with cookies, complimentary messages, upgrades, blah blah blah, trip to exotic location where you can see the allergic reaction coming a mile away, also the night of too many drinks, a bigger bed and on and on and on. It's enough to drive you insane. You just don't care at all what happens to any of them or if they ever do it. Even constantly chaperoned teenagers could have found a moment to do it. From the words of another reviewer, "get a cheap motel and do it already", so you can put me out of my misery.
So because of this book, I am taking extra time to search for a book with substance, to read all the reviews thoroughly, and to leave a detail review to help others with their selection. Don't waste your time, credit or money! Skip it! "The Undomesticated Goddess" is better, "Can You Keep a Secret", "Remember Me", and even "I Got Your Number" was fantastic compared to this.

Historia
Four different women. One common shoe size. And a shared lust for fabulous footwear. In this sparkling novel, the wife of a controlling politician, a debt-ridden eBay addict, an agoraphobic phone sex operator, and a nanny for the family from hell (who barely knows a sole from a heel but who will do anything to get out of the house) meet Tuesday nights to trade shoes, and, in the process, form friendships that will help them each triumph over their problems—from secret pasts to blackmail, bankruptcy, and dating.

Revisado: 03-24-13
It's an easy listen, four women and their shoe addiction. Believeble enough. The stories come together nicely and interestingly at first and problems are fixed with a nice tidy bow at the end. The narrator is fantastic. She's the reason I chose the book. Will read more from this author just for the narrator!
