the narrator is basically just reading it as if it's a child's book, just because there are children involved. would have been better if he would have read or listened to the first three books before he decided to jump into this one, because it's clear that he had no idea what was going on.

also it feels like Morgan Rice is just trying to tie up loose ends rather than complete a story. last two books felt totally rushed like they were skeletons of ideas instead of well thought out premises.

overall pretty terrible for this one....

I wasn't really sure where it was going for most of the book. almost felt like I was listening to Murakami. just a torrent of different situations and scenes blending into each other. slightly jarring an uncomfortable a lot of the time.

this seems like a negative review, but honestly I really enjoyed the short listen. just like "scale" it doesn't leave off with a crescendo, but more on a dissonant note.

cool read. thanks Keith. can't wait for another one.

A great supplementary book for japanese history.

Incredible pronunciation, and stellar performance. Tim Campbell must have studied before he read this one.

Foster's research is definitely not for the beginner. this book is at least at the intermediate level. very good for people who have a grasp on part of japanese history and culture.

it's funny when you read a book and you don't know what you're about to get into cuz you've never read anything about it and it's hugely popular and everyone tells you you should read it but they won't tell you what it's about.

and then you read it and it's amazing and just like most books you run into a few snags and you really wish that certain parts were like other things and it's a book and it's what you get.

and then it's terribly frustrating because you know a bunch of things about all of the characters even though they're being introduced to you for the first time but you already know who they are and what they've done and what they can do, and then Neil decides that only part of those things are true.

and then you just wish that the main character was as smart as you sometimes. but he's not and even though it's frustrating the book is still incredible.

I'm speaking this not typing it I don't care about your proper grammar... thanks Neil, again...
