If you love a warrior epic adventure filled with Saxons and Danes, this story is for you. Performances are well matched to the text and clearly the author picked her narrator well.

At 10 1/2 hours long, i found the book way too long for my attention span. I would have enjoyed it much better if it were two hours long. The author did not hook me into her story tightly and I did not cling to every word. It was very easy to ignore the book while doing other things instead of giving it my full attention. But I do like this narrator.

I was gifted this audiobook by the narrator in exchange for an honest review.

This is a really good listen if you are travelling and want something interesting, informative, and easy to understand while you pass the minutes or hours on your way to your destination. The information is pretty solid, though if you are well-read or pay attention to the news on a regular basis, you have probably heard much of this information before. That's okay! Sometimes the information doesn't have to be completely unknown to you. To that end, this book would work better if the author or producer offered titles for each chapter instead of numbers. That way you can quickly zero-in on the parts you find most interesting.

Which circles back to this book working best when listened to during travel where perhaps you are not wanting to offer your undivided attention to the book and are not quite so focused on navigating around and through it.

This being the authors' first book, I think it is a solid effort and reasonably well done. Michael Korsh is a reasonably good fit for the book and reminds me of narrator Alex Freeman.

I am giving 3 stars to the story part of this review because I know this subject well and the author/producer did not optimize navigation so I could quickly find the best parts of the book that I would find most interesting. What I heard, I pretty much knew before -- but that doesn't mean YOU already know this information.

My advice: give it a try! This book is short enough, you have nothing to lose by giving a go.

If I were new to the Law of Attraction, if I had never seen the film "The Secret" or watched dozens of hours of Bob Proctor or Abraham Hicks on youtube for the last few years, I think I would have loved this book and found it insightful -- and if Ms Kumar had picked a narrator better able to keep my attention and who sounded like she the narrator was actually interested in the material herself.

Those are "mighty big ifs" if I can borrow the phrase. Sadly, I have the wrong background for this book.

Very very little in this book is anything different from your typical law of attraction seminar. And I'm sad to say, Bob Proctor teaches it better and with much more enthusiasm than either Ms. Kumar as author or Ms. McGurl as narrator.

I wanted to love this book. I don't. Moreover, I think this works much better in paperback than either kindle or audio formats. The navigation of this audio book makes it hard to jump to the sections you want to listen to. Chapter names in the audio book are simply numerals -- without any further description present in the paperback.

If this is a subject you are interested in, please buy this book in paperback. It doesn't work nearly as well as an audio.

A Very Christian take on hapiness

This is a self-help book about happiness. It's not the sort of book I would normally listen to, but Ms. Kashner's voice is solid enough with strong enough performances that I felt willing to give it a go.

For me as a low vision person, the narrator's performance is absolutely key in my ability to listen to a book, especially after suffering three majors in university listening to poorly performed, droning textbook. Fortunately, Ms. Kashner delivers. I actually enjoyed listening to her voice far more than I enjoyed the content of the book itself.

This book includes a fair amount of Christian, religious content. Specifically it is written by an author who refers herself to a "missionary" from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Those who love that pov will love this book. However, those who prefer a secular approach or a different religious perspective (including a different form of Christianity) most likely will find the amount of religious content unpleasant at best if not outright irritating and annoying.

Overall, it's a good book that is well performed. To my independent author colleagues, I absolutely recommend Ms. Kashner as a prospective narrator. She's quite good!
