Historia
In this exclusive audiobook edition, which includes eight hours of new content, Snyder combines the original essays from On Tyranny with twenty new lessons that answer the questions everyone is asking about this war. With forays into history, he clarifies the causes of the Russian invasion and the meaning of Ukrainian resistance, and explains the war's connections to threats to democracy here in the United States and around the world. Linking past and present, speaking only from notes, he guides the listener into the larger moral universe of On Tyranny.

Historia
Aiden Aslin joined the Ukrainian marines in 2018, compelled to defend his adopted homeland from the growing threat of Russian invasion. In February 2022, as Russia mounted a full-scale offensive, Aiden and his unit were stationed at the frontline at Mariupol. Pinned down at a Mariupol steelworks, after a month-long siege and running out of supplies, Aiden was part of the mass surrender of over a thousand Ukrainian troops, in April 2022. Then his real ordeal began.

Riveting first hand account of the horrors that Russia inflicts on the world. And magnitude and institutionalized nature of their lying and killing machine.

Historia
For over half a century, scholars have labored to show that C. S. Lewis' famed but apparently disorganized Chronicles of Narnia have an underlying symbolic coherence, pointing to such possible unifying themes as the seven sacraments, the seven deadly sins, and the seven books of Spenser's Faerie Queene. None of these explanations has won general acceptance, and the structure of Narnia's symbolism has remained a mystery.

this book was phenomenal
Revisado: 10-05-23
It paints an incredibly imaginative picture of the meaning woven into the Narniad. Imagination heightened and sharp. Not frivolous fancy. Worth thought, researchlh, and discussion.

Sophomoric. From a robot publisher's template.
Revisado: 09-06-23
It felt like a first year counseling student wrote their fantasy of what it would be like to fix other people's problems. Poorly informed preachy story mascarading as a mental health, cancer survivor and domestic abuse insight PSA mascarading as a fantasy, romance, crime novel. Personally, I am a big advocate of the needs for mentally ill, abused and suffering. Counseling can be great. This is just a bad story. And the heroine is self-absorbed. Aperently, her only virtue is that she survived breast cancer. I'm sure the author can do better; if only she knew how. With everyone on her lauding her, how can she awake to her mediocrity?

Historia
There are tales of Middle-earth from times long before The Lord of the Rings. The story told in this book is set in the great country that lay beyond the Grey Havens in the West: lands where Treebeard once walked, but which were drowned in the great cataclysm that ended the First Age of the World.

Difficult and painfully tragic story. Sad. So well written. Sir Christopher's narration was not the best though. Rather bad at times.

not as good as the first
Revisado: 11-02-21
narrator had weird pronunciations for normal English words in general. often had lazy diction. and then SPOILER ALERT during the Arda quest he pronounced all the Tolkien legendarium horribly and inconsistently. there is even a plot point that has to do with pronunciation being up to snuff. well no one bothered to check his. wouldn't have been hard to just listen to an audio book of the silmarilion first. lame.
