Historia
They think they're safe. They're not—Olga and her friends are secure in a tower block control room, but there are diseased everywhere. Not only will they have to work their way through the blocks to regain control, but they have a human-sized rat by the name of Duncan who needs to be made to pay for his betrayal. Joni and the others are secure in the guard's block, but they're a long way from gaining control of the entire building, not to mention helping those guards who want to leave, reach the south gates.

We get it!
Revisado: 11-23-24
A decent continuation of the story, but hearing "Harry as in Harriet" every single time her character is in the story is maddening. We got it... Harriet goes by Harry. Tell us once, maybe remind us occasionally, but hearing "Harry as in Harriet" sometimes 4 times in a minute?!? I find myself hoping she meets an untimely demise. It's almost enough to make me stop listening to the prison chapters.
I'm still struggling with the voices as well, they just aren't as well done with this narrator as in the first several book sets in the series.
If I wasn't determined to listen to the end, or if this was the first of the series instead of the l last, I wouldn't continue after this set.
the disappointment is real.

Historia
Richmond, Virginia 1811. It’s the height of the winter social season, the General Assembly is in session, and many of Virginia’s gentleman planters, along with their wives and children, have made the journey to the capital. On the night after Christmas, the city's only theater is packed with holiday revelers. In the middle of a performance, the theater goes up in flames. Based on the true story of Richmond’s theater fire, The House Is on Fire offers proof that sometimes, in the midst of great tragedy, we are offered our most precious—and fleeting—chances at redemption.

Captivating
Revisado: 12-25-23
The storyline pulled me into the characters' lives during and after this tragic event in history. I enjoyed learning about the fire while listening to a great story.

Historia
The complete three book series of Surrender the Sun in one convenient boxed set of apocalyptic, dystopian chaos: Tons of action and suspense. Surrender the Sun: When the snow hits the fan. Because it happened once before and it will happen again. In the year 2030 the Maunder Minimum, a period of solar inactivity, will cause a mini-ice age like it did between the years 1645 and 1710. When it does, Bishop will have to save her not only from the effects of severe weather but also from man himself.
