I really struggled liking this book, at first. I was probably about 8 chapters in when I felt invested in the characters and story. I enjoyed and twists along the way and look forward to the next book. That all being said, I think the vividly described sex scenes are not needed.

They endured!

I know this is a fictional story, but I've learned so much about the Vietnam War in this story. I don't want to give away any spoilers so I will say that I felt like I was there with Frankie, Barb and Ethel through it all. To think that our brave women who voluntarily served our country were cast aside so easily breaks a part of my heart deeply. They are true heroes in every way...and they endured.

What a ride!

This book is full of so much that it is hard for me to convey all of the emotions I experienced. I am invested in the characters, and their stories that have been so believably created. The battle scenes have my heart racing, because the descriptions are so detailed. I will not share any spoilers but know this is not the end of this story. I'm ready for the next book and can't wait to see how it unfolds.

I have thoroughly enjoyed every book in this series. Ms. Hunter has done an amazing job of building and developing each and every character and intricately woven story. Ms. Hvam gave those characters life and some believability. Thank you for giving us such wonderful entertainment.

way too much detail...

i love details in a book, but there is entirely too much repetitive detail in this book. the main female character is unbelievable in her thoughts. if you have divine powers how can one not believe other "powers" that exist in her world. i finished the book to the end because i was vested in the characters. but i cannot listen to a sequel of this story because they really need to edit much of the overkill of details.

Story so good I've already placed my preorder!

I am a 63 (soon to be 64) year old woman who has always loved a great dragon story! This one surpassed my expectations! Wonderful storyline, interesting (young) characters, and amazing fighting scenes! The narration was very good and loved the switch up towards the end. I didn't see that or the ending coming...which makes me love this story even more! Cannot wait the next book in the series!

I needed a book for a trip to my sisters and decided to take a chance on this book. I started the book and wasn't quite sure if I was going to like it. I kept listening and soon found myself totally committed! It was funny, witty, charming and I enjoyed every moment. I love the characters (Knox, Naomi, Waylay, Nash, Lucy, Sloan, Liza J, and even Tina!) and always enjoy a little intrique. I'm looking forward to the next books, as I see at least 2 more books after this one!

Powerful and emotional

What a story! I wasn't sure if I was going like this based on how it started...just a little slow...but needed to build the foundation of the story. Great storyline, and interesting and believable characters. Love the narrator! Very much worth your time and credit.

I plan on finishing this book because overall it's a good and fun story. With that, I will say that the lead character has entirely too much internal dialogue and it can be very annoying and distracting.
