Marvelous storytelling. A must read/listen. James's best effort and I've read most of his work.

Historia
Ross Ransome is at the top of his profession; one of the most successful, and certainly one of the richest, plastic surgeons in the business. Such a man would expect his wife to be perfect - and why not? After all, he has spent enough hours in surgery to get her that way. But when his wife falls ill she turns her back on conventional medicine, and her arid marriage, and seeks help from the world of alternative medicine and a charismatic therapist who promises not just medical salvation. For Ransome, this is the ultimate betrayal.

a gripping story, masterfully told
Revisado: 04-26-20
I like Peter James's novels and devour each Roy Grace story as it is published. However this one has risen to the top of the heap- I couldn't stop listening! Lots of themes: medicine, domestic violence, relationships, etc.
I highly recommend this book for your reading pleasure.

Historia
Christmas is approaching, and in Québec it's a time of dazzling snowfalls, bright lights, and gatherings with friends in front of blazing hearths. But shadows are falling on the usually festive season for Chief Inspector Armand Gamache. Most of his best agents have left the Homicide Department, his old friend and lieutenant Jean-Guy Beauvoir hasn't spoken to him in months, and hostile forces are lining up against him. When Gamache receives a message from Myrna Landers that a longtime friend has failed to arrive for Christmas in the village of Three Pines, he welcomes the chance to get away.

Listen this series in order. simply marvelous story telling and wonderful character development. Better than reading the books as the narrator brings all the characters to life.

Historia
As they prepare to relocate to Charleston, SC, Olivia, the ultimate New Yorker, has reservations about the promise she made to retire in the Lowcountry, where Nick wants to return home and lead a more peaceful life. They are moving north to south, fast pace versus slow pace, and downsizing. Nick is ecstatic. Olivia is not. She can't let Nick know that their finances are not what he thought. Her client list is evaporating, their monetary reserves are dwindling, and maybe that house she picked out on Sullivan's Island needs too much work.

Not a lot of Low Country in this one<br />

Always a good "read" but some some of the characters are just not believable. I love her main character but this was Lifestyles of the Rich without Famous.
