Outstanding story
Revisado: 05-05-12
As the headline says, this is an outstanding story. Every time I had to stop listening I could not wait to get back to this book. I have recommended this book in audio and in print to everyone I know. This is a book that will stay with you for life, in a very deep and moving way, in a very good way. The story is outstanding, and the narration is outstanding. Get this book and you will have a real treasure that you will cherish and want to share with your friends and family. I love this book.

This book is a true gem
Revisado: 05-05-12
The title of this book enticed me, and it was listed as a book recommended by Neil Gaiman, (one of my favorite authors), so I decided to give it a listen. It is an excellent book that I highly recommend. It is funny, and sad, and very refreshing all at the same time. Holter Graham does an excellent job reading the story. Get this book. It should be in everyone's library.

Historia
In The Wind Through the Keyhole, Stephen King has returned to the rich landscape of Mid-World. This story within a story within a story finds Roland Deschain, Mid-World’s last gunslinger, in his early days during the guilt-ridden year following his mother’s death. Sent by his father to investigate evidence of a murderous shape-shifter, a "skin-man", Roland takes charge of Bill Streeter, a brave but terrified boy who is the sole surviving witness to the beast’s most recent slaughter.

Hmmm...
Revisado: 05-05-12
Stephen King is one of my favorite authors. This book, although good, does not do the dark tower series justice. The story is okay, it just feels a little too different than the others in the dark tower series. Get the book, it is worth the listen, but if you have not heard any of the other books in the dark tower series, please do not make any assumptions about them based on this book. The Dark Tower series is outstanding and I think everyone should read or listen to it. One other thing, Mr. King narrated Bag of Bones, Needful Things, and other books that were just fine. However, you can not create a series like this one, have it narrated by two other men with the voices they have and then write a book to go in the middle of the series and narrate it yourself! It is not that you are a bad narrator, you are okay at it, but George Guidell and Frank Muller are seasoned narrators with deep powerful voices. I am very sorry Mr. King, your books are excellent, but the choice to read this one yourself was a mistake. If it was re-released, with George Guidell or Frank Muller reading it, I would buy the book again and see if it changed my overall rating much.

Historia
This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.

Revisado: 04-26-12
This is an awesome book! I listen to a lot of books by many authors, but every time I listen to one of Stephen King's books, it is like coming home. This book is well worth your time to listen to, even if you have heard, or read the edited version. You really need to get this book, it fills in a lot that was left out of the original release.

Still, they persevere, and their relationship comes to represent goodness in a world of utter devastation.

Tough story, but good!
Revisado: 02-15-12
This is a tough book to get through, only because of the subject. Everything feels so bleak and seems hopeless. But, in thinking about it, I imagine that life after a nuclear war would seem that way. Then, if you look at the main characters in the story, it is not bleak and hopeless at all. Their is love and devotion, in fact, it is that very love and devotion that carries them through to the end, which, is in itself, very full of hope. A father and his son... guys, what would you do? Could you handle this? Or would you fall apart? Listen to this book, and walk the road with them, you will be glad you did!

I love this story. I have seen many versions of the play and have read the book. Of course there are a few versions of this story that appear on TV every year. This book can certainly hold its own with other versions, and other media. Well worth a listen.

One of his best books!
Revisado: 09-03-10
The gold coast was excellent, Wildfire was haunting, yet outstanding, the lions game was riveting, but The Lion tops them all! Nelson DeMille has become my favorite author. I have listened to seven of his books so far and they were all excellent! I highly recommend anything written by this author. The Lion is my favorite though. It can easily stand alone, but I recommend you listen to the lions game first, then the lion. The narration??? Well, Scott Brick is certainly one of the best!
