Historia
Since the dark events that scarred her childhood, Kier Templer escaped her hometown and her twin to live her life on the road. The siblings have never lost contact until, on a trip to a Portuguese national park, Kier vanishes without a trace. Detective Elin Warner arrives in the same park ready to immerse herself in its vast wilderness–only to hear about Kier’s disappearance, and discover a disturbing map she left behind. The few strangers at an isolated campsite close ranks against Elin’s questions, and the park’s wild beauty starts to turn sinister.

Good overall
Revisado: 07-29-24
Good narration and story line. Not as gripping as her past 2 novels however. Main critique is that there wasn’t enough recap on past novels since some of the storyline was carried over to this book

Historia
It’s been a decade since Trumanell Branson disappeared, leaving only a bloody handprint behind. Her pretty face still hangs like a watchful queen on the posters on the walls of the town’s Baptist church, the police station, and in the high school. They all promise the same thing: We will find you. Meanwhile, Tru's brother, Wyatt, lives as a pariah in the desolation of the old family house, cleared of wrongdoing by the police but tried and sentenced in the court of public opinion and in a new documentary about the crime.

Felt like a sequel
Revisado: 05-13-23
I never leave reviews but this one with the high ratings just shocks me. From the very start you feel like you picked it up from the middle and started reading. I had to search online to confirm this wasn’t a sequel. No one mentions that but it’s so odd referencing past characters and events in the breezy superficial way one might do if they knew the reader was already familiar with the history aka prequel. Very odd
