Historia
Once upon a time, in the magical land of San Francisco, there lived a not-so-ordinary girl named Laurel Pettigrew. She was supposed to be the Chosen One. The plan was simple: She would vanquish the great evil Tybus in an epic battle. But destiny had other ideas, and Laurel's performance in the whole heroics department was a colossal flop. Now, instead of being a legendary hero, Laurel's the resident pariah of the magic realm. And what’s worse, the dark wizard Tybus swooped in, took over the realm, and forced all supernatural creatures to live under his tyrannical rule.

First Audio Performance
Revisado: 01-29-24
Initially, I was irritated by it not being an actual audiobook (should’ve sampled it but I didn’t). But after giving it a chance, I enjoyed it. Entertaining.

Historia
Everyone expected the king's daughter would inherit the throne. No one expected me. It shouldn't be possible. I'm Nameless, a class of citizens so disrespected, we don't even get names. Dozens of us have been going missing for months and no one seems to care. But there's no denying the tattoo emblazoned on my arm. I am to be queen. In a palace where the corridors are more dangerous than the streets, though, how could I possibly rule? And what will become of the Nameless if I don't?

Historia
Out on the Yorkshire Moors lives a secret line of people for whom books are food, and who retain all of a book's content after eating it. To them, spy novels are a peppery snack; romance novels are sweet and delicious. Eating a map can help them remember destinations, and children, when they misbehave, are forced to eat dry, musty pages from dictionaries.

Historia
In the beginning, Byx’s original quest was to discover if there were more of her kind or if she was destined to become an endling - the last dairne alive. She did indeed find more dairnes, and along the way she also created allies among other creatures in her world, including humans, felivets, raptidons, and wobbyks. But Byx and her new friends soon learned that it wasn’t just dairnes in jeopardy of extinction, but that everyone was at risk. With the world in unprecedented danger, Byx must rally creatures of all kinds to lead a revolution.

Historia
Jaden Toussaint is a five-year-old who knows it all. I mean, really knows it all. Animal Science. Great Debater. Master of the art of ninja dancing. There's nothing Jaden Toussaint can't do. The only problem is that grown-ups keep trying to convince him that, even though he's really smart, he doesn't know everything. The thing is...he kind of does.

Cute!
Revisado: 11-17-15
What a cute way to give readers a glimpse into the mind of a kindergartner. It's truly amazing how Dumas makes something as simple as screen time appear to be so massive in the mind of a five year old. The narration by Dick Hill added a comedic element to the story making it a real delight. I would recommend this book for grades K-2.

Historia
Jala is a curious girl with a penchant for canines. In addition to playing pretend and being something of a gourmand, she spends most of her time learning new facts about animals - especially wolves. One day, after being severely scolded in the kitchen, she returns to her room and is only a little surprised to find that a mysterious mirror has appeared. Like Alice's looking glass, the mirror in Jala's room is only the beginning.

Lost in the Adventure
Revisado: 11-17-15
Dumas does an excellent job capturing the transition of a mother's lessons to her daughter and making the story come alive. I was truly lost in the adventure of the story and didn't realize I had learned something until it was all over! This is exactly the type of reading I want for my children. Dumas' voice enhances the ambiance of the setting and is sure to have young readers coming back for more. I would definitely recommend this book for grades 2-6.
